By merely asking for examples, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas calmly destroyed respondents’ argument for disqualifying former President Donald Trump from Colorado’s 2024 presidential primary ballot.
The moment came on Thursday morning, during oral arguments on Trump’s appeal to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court’s Dec. 19 decision to keep him off the Centennial State’s 2024 primary ballot. Colorado’s highest court claimed in its ruling that the former president can be “disqualified” from holding office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which stipulates that “[n]o person” who has previously sworn an oath as an officer of the United States and has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion shall” serve in any of an enumerated list of offices of the United States.
The president and vice president are not included in this list of positions.

I’m looking much farther back in history.
I’ve thought from the beginning that it would be 7-2, now after today, I too am leaning to 9-0.
Jonathan Turley did a great job of recapping today’s hearing .... scroll down a bit, to see his entire feed/thread, on this ...

i.e., when an appropriate case or controversy comes into SCOTUS’ jurisdiction, for SCOTUS to using its power under the U.S. Constitution to: 1) deem a situation broken, and 2) proceeding immediately to fix it
I think flaming is his natural disposition.
I am not familiar with the ruling and it would be interesting to read the decision.
Since Cleaver was no eligible, but allowed to stay on the ballot, one could easily think that the decision to remove is not up to the individual states, but to Congress. If that was the decision, then there is definite relevance to the Trump v Colorado case.
He nailed me head to the floor! He didn’t want to, but I insisted!
Too much work.
I said at the time even Jackson was hammering Colorado.
Then it should have been “more” Black students. Thanks.
one would think he would be a inspiration to Black students. The statement stands on its own. Thanks
I’m afraid most black students are too indoctrinated to give fair consideration a distinguished jurist who raised himself out of poverty to the highest court in the most powerful country in history. His success outside the sports and entertainment worlds is widely regarded by blacks as making him ‘too white’, and they and their leftist wine mom crowd uses words like ‘race-traitor’ and Uncle Tom whenever they refer to him as a matter of course. Most students stop there, and are too facile and weak minded to think any of it through.
Good point. You’re right. I stand corrected.
Good post.
Yes, the indoctrination runs deep and prevents them from discerning or thinking for themselves. “Group Think” rules.
It bears in this regard: They said that even if a candidate is ineligible to hold office, people have a right to vote for him or not. But the states don’t get to add qualifications. Like in the case where they said states cannot term limit Federal officeholders, or bar them from the ballot.
lol get on yout knees crooked libtard fake lawyer lol
Strange since the Constitution puts a hard minimum age to hold the office of president. He could run, but he could not take the office.
But...there is one thing that DOES pierce that armor, and it makes them hopping mad: Ridicule.
They absolutely cannot take it. That is why THIS is one of my favorite images I have seen in a while, and I post it whenever the time is right...like now!
Thank God for Justice Thomas he has more sense than all the libtard fake judges put together
