Tens of thousands of Americans are hospitalized with COVID-19 every week. Thousands die from it every month. And yet, an antiviral treatment proven to lessen the chances of severe outcomes is going underused.
The drug, Paxlovid, is lauded by experts as a powerful tool that can prevent hospitalization and death from COVID-19. But the high price and doctors’ hesitation to prescribe the pills mean the five-day treatment isn’t getting to everyone who would benefit from it.
“When you read in your local newspaper that in this hospital, they’ve got this many COVID patients, most of those are preventable hospitalizations,” said Dr. Amesh Adalja, a senior scholar at Johns Hopkins University who sees Paxlovid as a useful tool to treat COVID-19.

An anecdotal report from a user on X revealed the Paxlovid made her feel so much better that she resumed jogging 5 miles. When the course of tablets was complete and the onboard dose exhausted, her symptoms were far worse than before taking the Paxlovid. Her doctor monitored her closely before, during and after the doses. Some lab work before and after looked worse. It was decided to avoid future use of Paxlovid for her specific case.
My high tech Covid medical cure was orange juice and aspirin.

I am still getting over a severe bout with COVID and was prescribed Paxlovid. The stuff is nasty and leaves a horrid taste on your mouth, but I took it...Three pills twice daily for five days. Did it help? I’m still alive. My lovely with the RN did not take it and she and I had silimiar outcomes and length of illness.

Ivermectin only cost me $14 at my local Agway. I only used 1/5th of a dose because the full tube is designed for a 1250 pound horse. Zinc tablets are only pennies, less than $10 retail for a 120 tablet bottle.

I've used Ivermectin/Zinc twice and Paxlovid once. They worked equally well, but the Paxlovid was covered by my Medicare plan. Go figure.
Ivermectin also competitvely binds to the ACE2 receptor and thus blocks the action of the Covid spike proteins to enter cells which Paxlovid does not.
Ivermectin also had anti inflammatory properties that suppressed the cytokine storms that were deadly in advanced covid. Paxlovid is actually inflammatory.
The clinical study recommended that both Paxlovid and Ivermectin should be used “synergistic ally” to improve outcomes.
The improved outcomes presumably being that $10 of Ivermectin tablets cured the Covid infection for the patient and the Paxlovid cured Pfizer cash flow issues at $1000 -2000 for a course of treatment
Isn’t it amazing that HCQ, Ivermectin, and Pfizer’s PAXLOVID ($72per pill) all inhibit the same SARS 3CLpro enzyme to inhibit replication?
Weird that two are “snake oil” and the expensive one will get EUA {Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA}
If people would go over the dosage calculations available at this site, and read the proptocols on Ivermectin with Zinc.....they would have all info thay need. There are even sources for Ivermectin supply via mail.

I agree with you. People with covid that died from some other cause were counted as dying FROM covid.

EUA prescribing PDF has this black box warning:

You are right, but if you go the mail order pharmacey route, its around 100 bucks.
