Republican Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte told The National Desk (TND) Monday state officials acted within their legal limitations by removing a child from parents who objected to their transitioning gender identity.
Montana Child and Family Services (CFS) officials took custody of the 14-year-old from parents Krista and Todd Kolstad this month, according to Reduxx. The teenager is reportedly a biological female and recently began to express suicidal thoughts.
While being treated at a hospital in August, doctors began using the child's preferred name and pronouns, which do not correspond with the child's biological sex, according to Reduxx. The parents reportedly opposed and noted allowing their child to undergo any form of gender transition, socially or medically, was a violation of their "values, morals, and ... religious beliefs."
Doctors reportedly later moved the 14-year-old to a specialized residential treatment facility in Wyoming despite the parents preferring a facility in Billings, Montana. Krista and Todd claim they were given no information as to their child’s well-being or treatment during that time, according to Reduxx.
In September, the 14-year-old was returned to Montana and placed in a group home, according to Reduxx. After four months, Krista and Todd were reportedly notified that custody was being granted to CFS and the agency would be allowing the child's birth mother in Canada to ultimately assume care.
“We were told that letting [the child] transition and live as a boy was in her ‘therapeutic best interest’ and because we aren’t willing to follow that recommendation, the court gave CFS custody of [the child] for six months,” Krista told Reduxx. "The judge said to us ‘you need to expect that reunification with your family may not be what you are expecting.'
The parents reportedly say they are now exploring their "limited" legal avenues to fight CFS and the hospital where their child was treated.
When asked to comment on the matter, Gov. Gianforte told TND that children's rights to "grow up in happy, healthy homes with loving families" are "not always realized."
“Upon hearing recent allegations related to a child welfare case, I asked Lieutenant Governor Kristen Juras – an experienced attorney, constitutional conservative, mother, and grandmother – to review it,” Gov. Gianforte said. “Consulting with the director of DPHHS and personally examining case documents, Lieutenant Governor Juras has concluded that DPHHS and the court have followed state policy and law in their handling of this tragic case.”
Gov. Gianforte continued, noting a Montana law prohibiting medical gender transitions for minors.
“Our administration will continue to advance policies that strengthen our families and protect Montana kids, like what we have done to promote adoption and to ban permanent, invasive, life-altering medical procedures on children, like puberty blockers, hormonal treatments, and sex-reassignment surgeries," he said.
lots of Californians move to Montana and a lot of Hollywood money has been used to dominate the state.
Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte..... faggot and coward.
Who needs democrats to screw them when republicans will do it for them?
Let’s put it this way. I live in Billings and haven’t heard of any opponent for the primary. The TV ads are 100% centered on the Senate race in which Democrat John Tester is up for re-election against a younger veteran named Tim Sheehy with China being the subject on basically all of the ads. Tester is running as some sort of check against Biden’s craziness and it’s hilarious to see.
My tagline explains it all.
There's an underlying issue that has to be acknowledged, too.
I wouldn't say this to justify criminal or diabolical behavior, but when you are dealing with a situation where parents have openly accepted that their child is so fouled up that he/she needs to be institutionalized, they have already given up a lot of (1) legal leverage and (2) moral authority when it comes to making decisions in the best interests of the child. And that is even more applicable in cases where the parents turn to a third party (usually the government) to deal with the problem.
There's really no getting around this, which is why there is an understandable inclination on the part of some right-thinking people to just cut ties with the child entirely.
I have found myself saying this many times in recent years, but this is one "problem" you never hear about in Amish and Mennonite communities. That's because they don't rely on third parties (especially the government) to solve their problems.
I know.. the money.
My rhetorical question was more an expression of disappointment. I knew doctors and scientists are just as financially driven as any profession. I also know they have reason to fear retaliation from Big Pharma - there’s a carrot and a stick.
But doctors and scientists are also in a unique position to know better and to speak up save these families.
I know they are human but I thought more of them would have a conscience and a spine.
The legacy news source headline is greatly at odds with the governor’s statement.
“I saw that they had a street named after Elizabeth Warren”
Fauxcahontas Way?
Lol.
The story I read, probably in the DailyMail, which prints things American news sources will not, said that according to the child’s siblings, the birth mother had abused the children and had left them with the father, and moved to Canada. He then apparently found a sane wife. Now, of course, the courts are favoring the abusive mother over the couple trying to help the child consider therapy to get to the bottom of her issues, and not just the kind of “therapy” that is only to direct the child to believe the only solution is lopping and transing.
Children of divorce often target the ones who are actually caring for them due to their rage at the one who abandoned them, who isn’t available to be raged at, and wouldn’t take accountability if they were. Especially if the abandoner uses drugs or alcohol.
Americans are losing trust in almost every major profession, with doctors and police taking the biggest hits
…A Gallup poll in Honesty and Ethics conducted at the end of 2023 asked 800 respondents to rate the ethical standards of and their overall trust in a series of professions…
It has mostly had two Democrat senators since World War I. That’s why Tester may be unbeatable this year.
I was there once, in 1990, and it is a lovely city (or was).
I suspect there’s more to this story than what has been reported,“
I’m thinking there has to be. That said, the Governor seems to be rat pretender. I have to how radical leftist fraud like this guy got elected.
puberty blockers are big money
life long patient
Damn, not even a body for the families of American oligarchs to be buried.
I like it
Remove the Governor to PRISON.

He & DeWine need to switch party affiliation.
Without a doubt; but I would replace "pencil headed" with 'diabolical' and "idiot" with 'mercenary'.
The nature of "gender reassignment" surgeries results in perpetual patients, who are condemned to interminable hormone regiments and inerasable surgeries that can best be described as 'Frankensteinish'. As such, those who go through gender reassignment end up being a proverbial money well for such 'medical practitioners'.
It's unspeakably evil.
But unfortunately, the issues related to such medical malpractice are separate from the issues involving who has jurisdiction over a child's welfare, especially on the part of the parents in this particular case. If the state has a justifiable claim to jurisdiction, then there's a high probability that whatever the medical cause célèbre of the day has favor is what they'll subject the child to: whether it be leeches, lobotomies, or fashioning fake genitalia out of their own flesh.
