It was never about EV vs Real Cars. It was a trap.

I'm posting this because I'm impressed with his main point. His basic point is that it was never about EVs. He notes that it made no sense to promote EVs without building adequate infrastructure for them. The promotion of EVs was about damaging car manufacturers, related industries, and capitalism itself, so that we would eventually resort to using mass transit while living in our 15-minute cities.

I've given you a summary. His opinion goes from 1:30 - 8:39 minutes, and the first part of it is more notable, the second part being more about his love for old cars. The entire video is 16.13 minutes long. You can skip the ending, starting at 11:25, because it has nothing to do with the topic.

The entire purpose for trying to force EVs on people was to restrict their freedom of movement. A trip to see grandma for Thanksgiving could take days instead of hours because of having to stop to recharge the battery. They’re useless if you live in a northern area with snowfalls and sub zero temperatures.

I don’t know.

China is moving forward on EVs at frightening speed.

America seems to me, just my opinion, to have been caught napping by China, and China is completely heading for complete domination.

We have been sleeping.

Again. Just one opinion.

“China is moving forward on EVs at frightening speed. America seems to me, just my opinion, to have been caught napping by China, and China is completely heading for complete domination.”

China can have EVs, because they NEED EVs, because they work in China, just due to their local pollution. Additionally, China is building nukes at a record pace, so unlike the US, they’re not just moving the pollution around.

As to the US, we have none of China’s problems, basically because we now do about 10% as much manufacturing as China, and have a far less densely populated country.

“China can have EVs, because they NEED EVs, because they work in China, just due to their local pollution. “

Exchanging pollution caused by creating EVs someplace else.

P.S. Electric cars can never be “classic”, they wear out in just a few years.

EVs make sense for China because the country is filled with peasants who are governed by rulers who are pushing to cram them into cities. There are at lease a dozen cities in China that are larger than any city in the U.S., and EVs are more feasible in that type of environment.

The commies want control of energy, just like education, the media, healthcare, the military, etc.
They have to get rid of oil and gas so that the only energy source left is electricity.
That’s why they’re pushing the Green Energy, which is a hoax, designed to give government (commies) ultimate control of all energy.
Can’t let this happen.
Trump 2024 like your life depends on it, because it really does.

I think hybrids make sense. I also think the Chevy Volt II (especially the last year 2019) make sense as plug-in hybrids.

IMHO, the best hybrid out there is the new eRay Corvette, although I would prefer a 7 speed manual Tremec transmission paired with the front wheels driven by the electric motor (battery-only is about 3 miles — this is for traction control using the front wheels as additional thrust vectors)

Priced about $120K loaded.

Powertrain:

6.2L LT2 V8 engine producing 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque
Front electric motor with 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque
Combined system output of 655 horsepower
1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
Electronic limited-slip rear differential (optional)
Performance:

0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds
Quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds
Top speed of 180 mph

Dream on.

Yep, there was NEVER a plan to build the infrastructure for EVs because their aim was to get rid of your freedom of movement.

“Real men like to fix things”

I think of it as ‘Real men know how to fix things.’ The men in my family mainly know how to watch sports and operate their phones. They have good jobs, though.

Elon Musk makes the best electric cars, bar none. Every other electric car is a dogsled compared to Tesla.
