I'm posting this because I'm impressed with his main point. His basic point is that it was never about EVs. He notes that it made no sense to promote EVs without building adequate infrastructure for them. The promotion of EVs was about damaging car manufacturers, related industries, and capitalism itself, so that we would eventually resort to using mass transit while living in our 15-minute cities.

I've given you a summary. His opinion goes from 1:30 - 8:39 minutes, and the first part of it is more notable, the second part being more about his love for old cars. The entire video is 16.13 minutes long. You can skip the ending, starting at 11:25, because it has nothing to do with the topic.

I don’t know.

China is moving forward on EVs at frightening speed.

America seems to me, just my opinion, to have been caught napping by China, and China is completely heading for complete domination.

We have been sleeping.

Again. Just one opinion.

The commies want control of energy, just like education, the media, healthcare, the military, etc.
They have to get rid of oil and gas so that the only energy source left is electricity.
That’s why they’re pushing the Green Energy, which is a hoax, designed to give government (commies) ultimate control of all energy.
Can’t let this happen.
Trump 2024 like your life depends on it, because it really does.

I think hybrids make sense. I also think the Chevy Volt II (especially the last year 2019) make sense as plug-in hybrids.

IMHO, the best hybrid out there is the new eRay Corvette, although I would prefer a 7 speed manual Tremec transmission paired with the front wheels driven by the electric motor (battery-only is about 3 miles — this is for traction control using the front wheels as additional thrust vectors)

Priced about $120K loaded.

Powertrain:

6.2L LT2 V8 engine producing 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque
Front electric motor with 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque
Combined system output of 655 horsepower
1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
Electronic limited-slip rear differential (optional)
Performance:

0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds
Quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds
Top speed of 180 mph

Dream on.

I want every single member of Congress to drive in a caravan-—with them actually driving-—N & E across the Black Rock Desert & continue east to Wendover, Nev & then to Salt Lake city, south to US 50 & west back to Reno.

There is no such thing as “15 minute cities” anywhere along that route.

Then, they can drive around Utah& do lots of the same kind of route.

I’ll make a prediction here. Within 8 years, perhaps less, the federal government will wind up owning GM and Ford. Both are losing their asses on EV’s and that isn’t likely to ever change. Ford took out a 9.2 billion dollar “loan” from the government to facilitate their EV business. They can’t keep losing 32 grand on each EV forever so my guess is that at some point they will default on the loan. The government will acquire the company as settlement for the loan. GM will not be far behind. The precedent was set back in 2009 with the previous bailout of the Big 3. The new “Government Motors” will subsidize the costs of production so as to keep the UAW members employed and undercut Toyota, Honda, et al and drive them from the field. Consumers will be left with only one choice: buy what Government Motors sells or walk. But of course that has been the plan all along.
