Two brand spanking new polls out of New Hampshire are very bad news for Nikki Haley, aka Birdbrain, aka Nikki New Taxes, aka Nikki da Neocon. As it turns out, the Coalition of the Lukewarm (heavily suburban, female, college-educated milquetoast independents and Trump-hating Democrats) that she is putting together doesn’t appear to be enough to deliver her the Granite State.
The first poll to sound the alarm for Nikki was released earlier today, and it was sponsored by the Boston Globe. The poll shows Trump with an absolutely massive lead with New Hampshire Republicans, and, even worse for Nikki, he’s running neck and neck with her with independents.
That’s not the result Nikki wants to hear, as she’s banking on Democrats and independents pulling Republican primary ballots and delivering her the win. If she splits independent voters with Trump, she’s naan.
One poll could be an outlier, but two are a trend. The next poll to drop was conducted by St. Anselm, and it shows Trump breaching the 50% mark for a majority of the vote. In the poll, Nikki does do slightly better with independents than the Boston Globe poll, but she’s losing with Republicans by 40 points.
After Iowa, Nikki Haley wants us all to believe that this is a two-man race, despite the fact that she came in third place. Perhaps her speechwriter forgot to update the script.
Independents are morons who think they’re smart because THEY are “fair minded”.
Suckers one and all.
There have been some interesting studies (don’t remember where) that made the argument that “independents” split almost evenly between Republican and Democratic voting patterns.
That is somewhat surprising—but the real shocker of those studies is that non-voters split in their party preference (if they did vote or when they last voted) almost the same as those who do vote.
Weird stuff—hard to explain or understand.
They are "the voice of reason," going wherever the wind blows.
Good. The last thing we need is Haley winning ANYTHING.
She needs to drop out first, to make sure she has no shot at VP, much less President.
Independents don’t play until they know who’s won.
Here’s hoping Birdbrain literally flies away after Trump has another early dominating victory in NH next Tuesday.
A lot of people declare themselves as independent when they get disgusted with the party they are in, but when it comes time to vote their only choice is between Republican or Democrat, so they vote for whatever candidate they consider to be the lesser of two evils.
“Independents don’t play until they know who’s won.”
Ain’t that the truth!
A book from 45 years ago ...”Where have all the Voters Gone?”
A statistical study of the 40% who rarely vote. And ideas on how to appeal to them.
Trump understood the challenge ... he got 15% of them to show up in November... A decisive block of newly discovered voters.
I’ve pretty much always seen (Ind) as people too embarrassed
to actually be truthful and admit they were Leftists at the
core.
I’m willing to admit that’s a bit harsh, but when I see
them interviewed, like on the old PBS shows, they
always laid it on thick when it came to Conservatives.
It was so bad, that every three question, two out of three
were anti Conservative as the democrats and independents
sided up against us.
Pay no attention to polls. Vote for Trump. The bigger the margin of victory for him the better.
“Independents” are really democrats who are dumb enough to think they have the numbers to choose the leaders for BOTH parties.
It’s not a two man race. It’s a one and two-halves man race.
You are correct. But I am listening to what Trump is saying now, and it depresses me. Corn is NOT gold in our gas tanks. The jab has not saved millions. A man cannot be a freaking woman. Etc, etc.
I hope Trump wins. But I think America is doomed.
Yeah. But gosh isn’t Ron showing really strong?
Many independents are just sick of both the democrat and republican swill.
Be careful, Trump did not blast Haley until after Iowa. He has gone fairly light on her during the whole campaign while really pounding DeSantis.
Many feel Trump will ask Haley to be his running-mate.
