I’ve written in the past that during the early GOP presidential campaign debates, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum came across as the adult in the room. Burgum proved himself to be articulate, authentic and funny. He spoke atop a platform of vast experience and came across as presidential. And yet most Americans don’t know his name. Why?
Well, unfortunately for Burgum, most of the media — including much of the conservative media — unfairly relegated him to second-tier status in a class of candidates that included Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and even entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. On top of that, the debate moderators for those first two debates failed to give Burgum his deserved amount of time and number of questions.

Not going to happen.
I'm usually a big fan of outsiders in politics, but in this case the "outsider" has no accomplishments that anyone should take seriously in a candidate for President or VP.

Well, you have to remember, there’s a lot of snark and wisecracking, here on Free Republic.
Someone who is making jokes about how somebody looks, is clearly not making a serious evaluation of a candidate for office.

DB is my cousin but I don’t know him. My mom was adopted and about 15 years ago we found her family, the Burgums. I had NO idea who he was. But his eyes look like my mother’s & my son’s eyes. When I found out about him I did some reading and seems he’s a pretty stand up guy.
I like him for the same reasons I like Trump - hard working successful businessman with common sense who treated his employees well and willing to make the country better. And they both have enough $ to not be bought. Needless to say...he doesn’t have the charisma of Trump - no one can tough DJT in that.
DRUGS! Only someone on drugs would think we would fall for this. Woody Allen has a better chance of being Trump’s VP.
The VP should not be anyone with presidential aspirations-just a placeholder should the POTUS croak. Too many POTUS wannabes have come up too short, even DeSantis.
John Kennedy, La. senator. He’d be funny for 4 years.
I’d like to see Burgum head up Energy or Agriculture. He’d be excellent at either one.

Any ideas from The Hill are wisely viewed with extreme skepticism.
Folks there hate Trump.
Bergum is a quiet, decent, competent businessman.
He lacks the demeanor to compete at the Presidential level of politics, but there’s really not much else to complain about.
