WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida lashed out at the media Monday after networks declared former President Donald Trump the winner before some caucus sites had started voting.
“It is absolutely outrageous that the media would participate in election interference by calling the race before tens of thousands of Iowans even had a chance to vote,” said DeSantis spokesman Andrew Romeo. “The media is in the tank for Trump and this is the most egregious example yet.”
The news broke at a caucus site here right around the same time a surrogate for Mr. DeSantis had taken the stage to sing his praises.
Mr. DeSantis has been growing increasingly frustrated with conservative media outlets, accusing them of shielding Mr. Trump from scrutiny.
“[Trump’s] got basically a Praetorian Guard of the conservative media. Fox News, the websites, all this stuff,” Mr. DeSantis said at a recent campaign stop, alluding to Roman emperors’ bodyguards.“They just don’t — they don’t hold him accountable because they’re worried about losing viewers and they don’t want to have the ratings go down.”

He might have a point if Trump didn’t have more votes than all other rivals combined.
It was 2:1 Trump:DeSantis.
This wasn’t like calling Arizona in 2020.
Election Denier!.....................
DeSantis outperformed his polling and Trump didnt so I guess some Trump supporters left after they heard the mssion was accomplished (see what I did there)
It was outrageous. Just as Trump was upset about Arizona being called early In
2020, it suppresses votes.
The context is what is hilarious.
It was amazingly bitter cold tonight in Iowa.
Nobody was in a rush to leave warm and cozy caucus rooms.
The concept is laughable on its face.
If anyone knows foul intimately, it is the DeSatanis team.
Now they knows how the Trump team felt when Faux News called Arizona for Biden in 2020 with 1% of the vote counted there.
Caucus goers are not intimidated or even affected by network calls.
They are there to support their candidate—for better or worse.
In this case they braved insanely cold and windy weather to show up and cast their ballot.
The “vote suppression” claim is patently absurd.
Context matters.
A caucus is not a general election.
DeSantis and crew are morphing into Prince Has-been and Skankles
I agree with him. Wait until the voting is over!
It’s the principle if nothing else. To argue otherwise gives the impression that Trump supporters are only interested in election integrity if it benefits them.
BTTT
Nobody likes a Whiner Ron.
Trump’s IOWA win could have been called more than a year ago.
Trump’s win in NH should be called right now. Same with all the other states. No need to go thru the primaries. It’s a waste of money and time and effort.
I well remember that. Sickening.
>> It was outrageous... it suppresses votes.
Study up on the concept of a caucus. Clearly you have no clue how they actually work.
Trump is the whiner in chief the last few years. All time worst, even?
I am a Trump supporter, broken glass, hellfire, whatever I have to walk over or crawl through to vote for him.
Was it a slam dunk for Trump?
Yes, it was.
Was it wrong to call the race so early?
Yes, it was.
The media has been pulling this nonsense since the 1990s. Wasn’t right then and isn’t right now.
Ron has a point. Gives idiot networks too much power. Good that 45 won. Ron did well. Nikki is not my idea of a leader.
