I did a good and surprisingly happy thing. I had just talked with my neighbor about her dogs. I forgot to wish her a happy New Year’s, so I went to my contact list and messaged her that. She replied in kind.

Then I looked at my contact list and decided to do the same to nearly everyone on the list, even those I hadn’t contacted in years.

I was surprised at all the good responses I got, even from those that I had drifted away from over the years.

It turned out to be a good thing and a great way to start a new year.

I recommend this to all my FRiends.

Happy new year, it just turned 2024 here in New York and so it begins, what could be the last year the USA exists.

No, I didn’t see the pic of cutey pie, Peaches. Where did you post it?
He looks like all of my cats right now - - zonked out. LOL Well, except for Lorien. She’s sitting next to the chair staring at me, wantin’ some lovin’. I’m being mean and ignoring her. LOL

Bibi has set up a ritual with me. He sits on a chair out on the porch either looking at me thru the window or taking a catnap. If he sees me going toward the door, he jumps down, greets me and comes in. I feed him. Usually he goes to the door and looks at me. I open it, he goes out, gets back in the chair and grooms himself. Then he goes off to patrol his territory.

Yesterday he differed from his usual routine, sat down in a chair near the kitchen and watched me and my housemate. He took a catnap there. When he noticed we had adjourned to the entertainment room to watch TV, he went to the door and waited for me to notice that he wanted to go out.

Right now he's probably patrolling his territory. We had skunks visit last night, so I hope Bibi knows to leave them alone.
