PARRISH, Fla. (WFLA) —It was a nightmare before Christmas for Parrish parents after their son was flown 1,200 miles south to Puerto Rico instead of 1,000 miles north to Cleveland.
Logan Lose, 16, waved goodbye to his family last Friday at Tampa International Airport and headed to his flight to visit his mom for the holidays. When he got to the gate, he saw other passengers boarding and got in line.
His father, Ryan said the Frontier Airlines boarding agent checked his son’s baggage, looked at his boarding pass on his phone and told him he could get on the jet.
“Logan said they didn’t scan it,” Ryan Lose said. “They would’ve known it was the wrong flight if they scanned the boarding pass.”
After landing in Puerto Rico, Lose texted his family in a panic.
“Help me please,” he said. “I’m so scared. They told me it was Ohio.”
“My first reaction was panic,” his father said. “He’s panicking, he’s scared, and I can’t be there to keep him safe.”

At 16 I drove non-stop from Palmdale California to Green Bay Wisconsin to visit my cousin and trade some car/truck parts.
Hit snow just west of Salt Lake City and drove through a screaming blizzard all the way to Green Bay.
Took 27 hours with just coffee and fuel stops.
Thought nothing of it, just counted cars and semis that were in the roadside ditches all the way out.
Most (not all) kids today are just pussies!
Sadly, that’s true. And most of it is because their parents didn’t love them enough to prepare them for life by letting them fail and suffer the consequences appropriate to their age as they matured. The hard/painful knocks of life can wise even the semi-stupid up pretty fast.
Then again, who among us wouldn't have thought "Hmmmm, Cleveland lakefront in December ... or a beach in Puerto Rico. And they're not checking my boarding pass? Decisions, decisions."
. “He’s panicking, he’s scared, and I can’t be there to keep him safe.”
Geez they don’t make 16 yr older Les like they used to.
So sorry that he was retarded!😋
When I was 16 my dad gave me the keys to the car and told me to drive 300 miles round trip to pick my older sister up from college and bring her home for Thanksgiving. I had had my license for one month.
Happening more than reported, 6 year old supposed to fly to Pittsburgh to see grandmother, she got text he was in NY, she drove 160 miles to retrieve him from airline, she was afraid where they might send him. This was just last week!!!!
Other than the origin of the flight being Tampa Bay, the article omitted to say that the kid is mentally challenged. For the boy’s sake, I hope he did this deliberately.
When Ivwas 16 I was visiting a friend in NYC, traveling alone. The same night Diana Ross had her concert in Central park rained out, my flight got rained out. I was stuck ion LaGuardia airport overnight. I was able to occupy myself, with my luggage, for 15 hours. I had to get rebooked. The flight in the morning departed out of a totally different gate. Why was I able to do this and not freak out at the first sign of trouble?
