“Polar Bear Plunge.”

That has become a tradition here. They jump in the freezing cold Columbia River to raise money for the Special Olympics. I think raising money for the Special Olympics is GREAT but to jump into the freezing river borders on being nuts. IMO

Banging a loaf of bread against the wall? I don’t think I would want to eat a loaf of bread that is HARD enough to bang on a wall.

Lol for sure. Not even half decent stainless steel. It was Italy and they were poor. Happy to toss out the old pots and pans. I think what happened was people who had worse pots and pans got to gather anything that would be considered an upgrade. So they more or less passed them along to new owners. Wow. Imagine having to get better pots and pans that way!

All rusty I’m so sorry you continue to have this awful pain.

You and three of my other friends have all had surgery in fall summer or spring

. They chose surgery because they were having a whole lot of pain and issues also. Two with the back, one on her foot, and you with the neck. In every case the pain is significantly worse and painkillers don’t touch it.

I think it’s a shame that surgeons do not tell you that the pain will not go away. They may correct whatever issue is there but that does not mean pain is alleviated.

That is why a knife will come nowhere to near my back. The hernia surgery was soft tissue. No bone or bone/nerve involved . I went off narcotic in two days. No hernia surgery pain .. only back

Looks like a magnificant place to be. I wish there was such magnificance in my town to go see.

The only thing is our Court House which they were going to tear down until the citizens came up in arms. Then they refurbished it.

Hey Rusty....I was thinking about you earlier and wondering how you were feeling.

Hope the new year speeds your healing and the country and the whole world turns around and starts back in the right direction.

Soon you’ll be able to dance just like the gal in Spunky’s post lol. At least you don’t have to pole dance!

(GENTLE HUG AND CHASTE SMOOCH RETURNED)

I did the 1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s at the Canteen over the past two nights. Tonight, it's the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 10s and 20s, along with my notes, stories and occasional snarky comments.

New Year’s Eve went south - big time

Son an alcoholic. We were at granddaughters two days n no booze.

On way home Fri he picked up several 12/15 packs. Went out Sat n got more.

Kitchen a disaster stove left on Ruined a pan n my good wooden tools. Sloppy joe or taco filling all over stove. Used my special blend meat instead of his. I was making a few foodie gifts for New Years

Hostile, angry n vulgar to me

Finally asleep on sofa after watching panthers game

I’m at point to find another live in personal chef/companion position locally. Following my hernia surgery I’m much better. With income will be able to get acupuncture treatments for my back.

Chef n companion- no cleaning or nursing. Room n own bath. Income 2-4K month.depending on many things. A real deal for families involved. For individuals benefitting from assisted living n want to stay in own home. Companion. Help with meds n supplements, take to appts, have her friends over for lunch, book club, cards

Woman only. Conservative. Jewish or Christian. No difficult diet. No advanced Alzheimer’s

My last one was in Ohio w/Jenny. 15 years my jr. She came home from work. Had two double martinis neat, 4 or more glasses of wine n pot. She came home 2-3 n was passed out on sofa by 5.

I woke her up for dinner n helped her to bed. She wouldn’t remember dinner or anything else. But got the leftovers in lunch. She said everyone else wanted her lunch

She was a gentle alcoholic but unfortunately hurt her

She would leave doors open cats out, stove on. She needed a keeper

Since I left three precious cats gone/disappeared. She also went to VA psych unit for a month

Jeffs ex daughter and I have tried to help Jeff. They are RNs n I’m pretty knowledgeable.

So for dinner I grabbed some cheese.

I’m not cleaning the kitchen

This is not a first time situation. Too regular n painful n I’m not helping him at all

Oh money for beer.?Another strange revelation. His 19 year old son who was killed in May had taken out a life insurance policy naming his girlfriend n parents as beneficiaries. What 19 year old does this and doesn’t tell anyone?

Sorry to unload but I know this group understands and has no doubt families and friends in similar situations

So 2022 & 2023 awful years. Praying n working towards a better 2024
