I am taking my oldest daughter out to Chinese Gardens tonight. This restaurant has been a favorite in my town Pasco,WA for 58 years and tonight will be it's last night because it is closing for good.
So many memories here. My husband and I ate here lots of times and it is where we had a banquet celebration when my youngest daughter got married.
One of Chinese Gardens’ trademarks is its extensive collection of vintage Jim Beam whiskey decanters on display throughout the bar and restaurant.Produced between 1952 and the mid-1980s as a promotion to drive sales, Jim Beam’s detailed ceramic bottles came in a variety of shapes, sizes and themes, commemorating predominately American historical events, people and more. They are popular among collectors. Chinese Gardens’ collection numbers 325. Oh Spunky.....that will be a bittersweet dinner. It’s good that you’re getting out there one more time....enjoy.
And here’s the meaning of Auld Lang Syne.....
It basically means bury the hatchet, for old times’ sake. Sort out the issues and move on. And we sing it now, thanks to a Canadian!

Watch: Queen of Denmark announces abdication live on TV
Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II has announced her surprise abdication in a new year TV address.
She will formally step down on 14 January, which will be 52 years to the day since she became queen.
“I will leave the throne to my son, Crown Prince Frederik,” she announced.
The 83-year-old is the world’s only reigning queen and the longest serving current monarch in Europe, taking the throne after the death of her father King Frederik IX in 1972.
She revealed the decision was made after a period of reflection following surgery on her back in early 2023.
“The surgery naturally gave rise to thinking about the future - whether the time had come to leave the responsibility to the next generation,” she said.
“I have decided that now is the right time,” she added, and offered her thanks to the Danish public for their support over the years.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen thanked the queen for her service.”

POST OF THE DAY!!!!!!!
*HUG*
LMAO!!!!
Interesting post, Dolly, thanks.
My deceased MIL always spoke of the tradition in Italy that everyone threw out their old pots and pans on NYE and got new ones.
Hi Ms.B.
How’s the pain today? I hope you can at least end the year pain free!
We’re finally getting snow - at this point it looks rather nice compared to the mud outside. The kids can’t even play outside much. They need a good blast of snow so Matt can plough and make a giant snowhill.
Audrey took a spill in the big pond today lol. She had her waders on, as she and Matt were out trapping animals, and she slipped and fell into the cold water. Poor kid. She loves it though.
How nice you’ll be with your daughter. But it’s going to be full of memories and tears for you with your husband and the fine food, and the relationship you have with the owners.
It’s a really difficult time for restaurants now. I have a quite a few friends who own and /or our managers. The rising food cost make them right raise prices. Their clientele who are now in a recession can’t afford it. So sales are down and taxes and utilities are going up. In many cases - and I’m guessing this might be the situation for your people. They’re older need to retire and no one of their children or relatives want to buy take over. They don’t want to sell if they can’t keep it in the family.
Small businesses really really are having a difficult time
I remember that night. I was up just about all night. It was a travesty, and how the whole country didn’t see what was going on is stunning.
You made my day again Spunky! I’ve been so down in the dumps, every time I try to just do a few things I start hurting.
Thanks for the party! I’ll watch this a few more times today.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2024 we take our country back!
Epoch times has a great paper. If you subscribe the internet site is included. Last I checked it was about $40 a quarter(or was it month? ) delivered weekly. All this info maybe two years ago so might be significant changes

That was n still is too much for my budget. After bills it gets dicey. I put aside $50 month as mad money spending. And I spend it each month. Have gotten kitchen things(of, course); yard n plant things n my splurge cotton n DJ was my perfume $58 for bottle of Juicy
me too.
I\we here watched in real time as a bazillion vote lead everywhere flipped after midnight.
Turns out the “water pipe break” was supposedly a purposely stopped up toilet that “backed up”.
I watched PA like a hawk cause it was key to everything.
I went to bed with Pres. Trump holding a 640k lead, there was 1,547,891 mail ballots left to count and 16% of the precincts left to report.
(I saved that thread)
Getting spittin mad all over again.
That is sad when beloved places close down. It’s too bad they couldn’t find somebody to buy it and continue on with their recipes.
Enjoy your dinner and see you after!
ha, I see what I did. I did sign up, but forgot I did. Apparently under another email and the tablet remembered my password. Now I have to figure out when I signed up and how long it will last.
