Former President Donald Trump is ineligible under the 14th Amendment to run for president in 2024, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday -- a historic decision that sets up a battle before the nation's highest court.

Exactly like they did during the "summer of love" in order to drive negative headlines across the nation.
This time around, it will be worse.
Well if it doesn’t take a conviction, how on earth would this just not be a partisan maneuver every election?
That was my first thought. Red states can decertify the Democrat party for supporting treason.
“Was he convicted of said insurrection?”
*************
No, just presumed to be guilty. Due legal process doesn’t matter to the Left.
A Colorado state judge held a non-jury trial and singlehandedly declared him guilty of insurrection, but that because he wasn’t an “officer of the United States” he couldn’t be barred from running. The Colorado Supreme Court upheld the so-called conviction and said he WAS an officer (running contrary to the text of the constitution and all precedent in so doing) so he was barred.
Since this ruling applies to the primary, it does not involve electoral votes at this point. The Colorado GOP could choose to forego the primary completely and choose their delegates to the RNC by caucus or some other method. The Colorado Legislature could also choose to select the electors in the general election directly, without having a vote of the public at all.
Enemies of the people.
They “convicted” Trump of insurrection without a trial.
Or even being charged with the crime of insurrection.
So much for due process.
The Constitution does not require the public to vote for the electors for President. The Legislature could just as easily chose presidential electors by a lottery regardless of political affiliation, and that would be Constitutional.
This is what a bankrupt and collapsed society looks like.
I’m worried about SCOTUS. They’re the ones who refused to hear Trump’s case about vote fraud claiming that Trump didn’t have “standing “.
I haven’t read whether RD has said anything about this travesty - I can’t find anything yet. He should probably say something.
By “Presidential elections” I did not mean the meeting of the 538 Electors but the clown show in November.
If there is such conviction by trail, then the charges are moot. No court has convicted him thus it is a non-binding ruling.
When Ohio, Georgia, Florida or other red states ban DNC candidates for illegal immigration and BLM protest support it will get interesting.
“ Democrats hate democracy.”
So did the founders and so do I.
“Colorado is trying its darnedest to “out California” California. What a liberal hellhole that state has become”.
Yeah, but they’ve got legal Marijuana.

Telling people to be and remain peaceful is a dog whistle for violence and uprising according to the left.
I remember in November I said the ruling meant they’d rule he couldn’t run in general.
You said that was wrong.
No malice, I just remember.

See what this country is up against.
The Supreme Court will say Trump has no standing since its up to each State to decide how electors are selected and not take up the case, citing Texas’ 2020 challenge against Pennsylvania as precedent.
I know, I'm dreaming.
This is awful. The sinking ship is sinking faster than ever.
