Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said he would support the legal fund of a man who is accused of vandalizing a display by The Satanic Temple inside the Iowa Capitol on Thursday.
“Satan has no place in our society and should not be recognized as a ‘religion’ by the federal government,” DeSantis said on X, formerly Twitter. “I’ll chip in to contribute to this veteran’s legal defense fund. Good prevails over evil — that’s the American spirit.”

So now he supports vandalism of the satanic display because it's not a group that he approves of.

There should not be a display of satan in any gov’t building. He’s already in the White House.

Government approved religions seems to run counter to the First Amendment.
Legally, what actually does constitute a ‘religion’, recognizable by the government for tax exemption purposes? Can I establish my own? Does it have to worship God, or can it worship turnips? How big must my flock be? I am not trying to mock (I am a Christian and would never worship anything or anyone other than our Lord and Savior) but is there, in an earthly legal sense, a clear definition of this, or is it all historical precedence?
Notice the media uses the word “beheading.”
Is desanctimonious still running for president, and doing everything he can to get himself, or casey, into the news?
Should people know about what desantis is lying about illegal, corrupt activity he actively is doing or stupid stuff he does, while trying to become president?
Oh.... you desantis supporters/nevertrumpers don’t want to acknowledge or have people know he’s doing any of that.....

Iowa has a Republican governor, a Republican House, and a Republican Senate.
They can change that law this week.
Mr. DeSantis can move to Iowa, be elected governor and sign a bill changing that law.
My only problem with DeSantis is that he should be outraged about the stolen 2020 election - not denying it was stolen. He should be speaking out against these phony indictments against Trump, not trying to block him from serving his second term.
However. I have no problem with DeSantis offering to help this guy.

The Iowa governor is spineless. That display was reprehensible and OBSCENE. I would have thrown that Satanic garbage in the trash and said the good people of Iowa don’t want that and stated see you in court. Just like Islam, Satanism is not compatible with our Republic. The Bill of Rights is not a suicide pact.

desantis is supporting and promoting vandalism of a ‘religious’ group that he doesn’t approve of.
Whether or not he’s doing it for p.r. or not, as I’m suspicious that he’s only doing it for p.r., as he blamed the display’s existence on Trump’s approval.
So, by extension....
hypothetical situation - synogogue gets firebombed by a pro-pali guy... and the muslims in congress offer to pay for his defense....
And before the desantis supporting nevertrumpers say I support or approve of satanism, I’m not. Currently its group is a recognized entity and their activities haven’t broken the law, no matter how abhorrent or distasteful their beliefs may be.
If desanctus want’s the group gone, he currently needs to work within the bounds of the law (though he breaks laws all the time) and not promote vandalism or violence to achieve his desires.
Satanic images belong nowhere in a Biblical Republic.
Sure they can.
But it has to be all or none.
Freedom of religion, as with speech, means nothing if it doesn’t apply also to what you find abhorrent.

If you can have a ‘Biblical Republic’ you can have a Muslim Republic.
Government should have NOTHING to do with endorsing or oppressing *any* religion. You have no more right to see your Christian beliefs given preferred than a Muslim or Satanist or an Atheist.
On that, I’ll gladly fight to the death, not necessarily my own.
A government that can prefer or endorse Biblical law can just as easily prefer or endorse Sharia.
Fact.
Yes, all Religions are allowed . It does not change the fact thaylt this is a Biblical Republic, built on Biblical Princables.
