You might want to look at the definition of “overall”, and then consider where America is now compared to where it was under Trump.

I don't do political idolatry either. And yes, there are too many on the FR who deify Trump. But cutting through everything, I vote for the person whose policies I agree with over the person whose polices I disagree with. At this point the general election will come down to Trump vs Biden. This choice should be a no brainer; an imperfect Trump vs. a deep state tool. I'd much rater vote for a flawed Trump that a leftist Democrat such as Biden. (Though I can see Newsome or Michelle getting in if Biden isn't up to snuff) At this point, ALL democrats are leftist thugs.
Down ballot races are a bit trickier because of the deep state RINO factor. In those cases I just wouldn't vote or vote 3rd party. That's why we need to run real conservatives in the primary and support them financially so the message gets out.
Free Republic is MAGA and Trump country. With a comment like that, you insulted probably 95% of FReepers who love the record President Trump had in office -- and are not "gambling" with the fortunes of this country as you suggest.
In fact, your comment reminds me two months back when DeSantis called MAGA voters "listless vessels" -- an old seaman's term that means ships that have no wind in their sails.

I haven’t check the rates, but if they are at a 50 year low, it is only because the rates are counted on convictions. If they’re not prosecuting crimes, the rates go down, despite there being more crimes committed.

I don’t think any poster can claim to represent FR as a whole. Your post certainly doesn’t represent my views. I voted for DT twice but won’t again after his “Desanctimonious” and “Birdbrain” insults. Biden is senile and I’d never vote for him, but he has enough sense and self-control to not trash-talk opponents.
I will be surprised if DeSantis doesn’t drop out before the FL primary.
Losing by a large margin in his own state would be tough.

Here is a shortlist of Trump’s accomplishments in the 4 short years that were positives for the majority of if not ALL Americans:
The gas price per gallon was about $2.30 vs $3.80 under Biden. This is a cost increase of $30/20 gal refill for each American and a significant cause for inflation as well as making America’s enemies, Russia and Iran flush with money for a war in Ukraine and financing Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists.
Inflation was about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now.
Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything down and we were in the midst of a V-shaped recovery until January 22, 2021.
Tax decrease - tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large.
US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, no Paris Treaty.
No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way.
China was quiet and the US was winning the trade war.
US companies were bringing home well paying jobs due to well executed tax treatments.
There was peace in the Middle East, aka Abraham Accords; the US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated and facing financial ruin. Remember Trump’s audacious assassination of Iran’s Qassem Soleimani? Remember how difficult Trump made life for Iran by enforcing economic sanctions?
How about Trump destroying Isis in just a matter on months?

Trump received 11 million more votes in 2020 over 2016. Never has a sitting President lost when receiving more votes in his reelection bid. Trump increased his vote total by 17+%. Trump can claim victory in 17 of the 18 bellwether counties but still “lost” according to the Dems/MSM?
Do you really believe that Stumbling Bumbling Biden received 15 million more votes than Hillary? That is an amazing and unbelievable 23% increase in votes for Bumbling Biden than Hillary. The election was blatantly in your face stolen.
Face it, Trump did one hell of a job! Compare Trump’s job to that of Biden’s. Attack Biden instead! People are suffering under Biden and all I witness are attacks on Trump by the brilliant GOPe and fools supporting the brilliant GOPe Presidential dwarfs.

I am outside of Los Angeles - in a nice suburb, but things are certainly locked up around here. I suspect the thieves particularly target areas like mine - I notice stores are starting to close a lot earlier now - and open later. Some have gone to one entrance in and out and closed the other doors.
I also have immediate family in San Francisco so I am there a lot - entire aisles of supermarkets are behind plexiglass and under lock and key.
