HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A large U.S. Navy aircraft ended up in shallow waters of Kaneohe Bay on Monday afternoon after overshooting the runway at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
The incident happened about 2 p.m. and the large plane could be partially submerged in shallow waters. Sources said the aircraft had nine people on board and all of them made it to shore.
Injuries were reported to be minor, but that could not be independently confirmed.

To your point. When I went through pilot training in the Air Force, I had to attend Flight Screening Officer Training Program in Hondo TX. I had never flow before and I had some air sickness issues. I got sick on my pre-solo flight (a big problem I was told). They brought me into the Flight CC office and he told me that my next flight was it. If I got sick, I’m out. Meanwhile, in my class, was a female who had been washed back three classes because she couldn’t fly. They gave her chance after chance, but me, just one. Needless to say, I made it and went on to a 32-year flying career. She, on the other hand, washed out of UPT. This was 1985.
It may be the distinctive painting...
A real master of understatement, there...
Good for you! And that was under Reagan...when the people running a country believe that their country is INVINCIBLE, they no longer prioritize national defense and instead start rolling-in social programs, whether it’s having BLM and Trannies staff the tank assembly lines, or, in your case, having clearly incapable people, meaning probably 98% of women* pushed along as far as possible. Heck, the spanking our hardware is getting Ukraine more than makes that point.
*and don’t get me wrong, probably 80% of men aren’t up to it either, and I’m definitely in that group!...but then again, the men will wash out quickly, if they’re not up to it.
Several careers are going to come to an end over this, starting with the squadron CO for loss of confidence.
so Bob, was it a woman pilot, or God forbide, a black?.....what is this world coming too.../s/
There are other photos where it looks like a fuel spill containment boom that was looped over the fuselage as though they wanted to access the cockpit but keep the fuel round the rest of the aircraft.
Here's an example:
At least they were vaccinated. What’s a little mishap?
Absolutely.

C command
means exactly that. If the operation is unsafe, it is the pilot’s duty to refuse the instruction.
ATC wanted me to descend into know icing in a plane that was not know icing equipped. I told the controller I’d take higher but not lower. The controller seemed taken completely off guard. Said I’ll get back to you. Came ba6and told me to stay at my current altitude.
First fly the aircraft! All else comes after that.
Thats no crack, thats a detachment
/obi-wan paraphrase
I’ve been swimming in Kaneohe Bay.
Confucius say woman who fly airplane upside down have big crack up.
From The Navy Times: The plane belongs to the Skinny Dragons of Patrol Squadron Four stationed at Whidbey Island in Washington state. Patrol squadrons were once based at Kaneohe Bay, but now they deploy to Hawaii on a rotational basis.

The runway lengths are close: Whidbey Island is 8,000 ft and Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay is 7,700 ft.
“Catch a wave and you’re sittin’ on top of the world”
(Except it looks like the water is calm)
On another thought:
Did the engines keep running for bit when in the water, like some clip I saw of a Tom Hanks movie? (lol, one of the lamest scenes I think I ever saw, where a big jet was involved)
It’s just too much to expect any competence from Xiden’s woke purse swinging military I guess.
I suspect the Squadron CO is going to get a promotion out of it to keep their mouth shout about how he or she toed the company line and signed off on the politically correct pilot.
The O-5 or O-6 who would have grounded the politically correct pilot was sent packing a long time ago.
The crew will all get NAMs.
I want to see the wrecker that does this job!!!
