Comer: I’m ‘Ashamed’ of House Republicans — ‘We’ve Wasted Three Weeks’ (but not ashamed of wasting nine months!)

Representative James Comer (R-KY) said Monday on Fox Business Channel’s “Kudlow” that he was “ashamed” that House Republicans have not elected a speaker after Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was removed from the position three weeks ago.

Anchor Larry Kudlow said, “I need a Republican speaker of the House, Mr. Chairman so you can go back to work and everyone else can go back to work. What’s happening?”

Comer said, “We’ve wasted three weeks. And, you know, this was a dumb move by those eight members of Congress. Many of them are on my committee. I like, you know, at least six of the eight. But at the end of the day, they had no plan. They had no plan, and Larry, this could stretch out another two or three weeks. And it’s limited the ability of committees, not only to meet, but my committee, to do subpoenas and things like that.”

From January 3rd to September 30th Kevin McCarthy and his chairmen INTENTIONALLY dithered.

No bills marked up in committee and voted to the floor.

No multiple votes on bills and amendments to bills.

No bills sent to the Senate.

No conference committees to hash out differences between House and Senate bills.

No final votes of both bodies. No presidential signatures.

None of this. Just intentional biding of time and a continuing resolution.

Just like last year. And the year before that. And the year before that, etc.

So "chairman" Comer can go F himself.

Am grateful the purse is closed, as long as there is no Speaker. Knowing how congresscritters love spending taxpayers money, am surprised there has been no Speaker elected. IS A GREAT DAY when our congresscritters are not spending taxpayers money.

It's an uneven match.

They are like a swarm of Army Ants faithfully following the directive of their Queen.

Not necessarily what thinking people want from their representatives but it does keep them in power more often than not.

With republicans it's like trying to herd a mob of unruly cats.
They wouldn't even unite behind their own sitting president when he was being savaged by corrupt democrats.

I favor Jim Jordan for Speaker, much more than McCarthy.

However, McCarthy as Speaker is better than the current crapshow.

Burn It All Down is not a plan for governing America.

Right now the Dems are the only party that has a plan for America. It’s a terrible plan, but they are united.

Republicans can’t even elect a Speaker. The Republican Party isn’t a big tent, it’s a bunch of backstabbing egomaniacs who run to the Dems when they don’t get their way. I will always vote Republican, but it’s depressing to watch this bunch of clowns who can’t even make a single decision without engaging in brawl.
