The entire situation feels like a trap.
The cheesy invasion on hang gliders is straight out of Hollywood.
This was not a serious military operation. It was a psyop.
Hamas wants to draw Israel into a confrontation on their ground, where they have had years to prepare who knows what manner of booby-traps.
I do not believe that Israeli victory is a foregone conclusion.

Headline is different from article. He said Israel shouldn’t enter Gaza without a clearly defined goal. We got sucked into 20 years in Afghanistan by going with a loose goal of ….. remind me again what the goal was? We were plenty good at achieving tactical victories but were not willing to have a strategic goal that permanently destroyed our enemy’s ability to make war.
Right now it seems the Gaza plan goes no further than rush in, kill terrorists, destroy tactical targets. It all feels very satisfying but then what?
