NEWS: Former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell is pleading guilty in the Georgia election subversion case, one day before her trial was scheduled to begin.
6 counts of conspiracy to interfere in performance of Georgia election duties.
Don’t know what that means in Georgia law
I tried to warn y’all back when she represented Flynn that she was full of Kraken. She didn’t have a valid appeal for Flynn. I took some abuse, but that’s ok. FR better start realizing that the “steal” was fully Kraken; Trump didn’t pursue it with his own money. He talks about it 24/7 but follow the money. Little Miss Arizona is even dropping it.
... Trump had to deal with the dregs. And THEN the special counsel made Trump’s lawyers witnesses, so they couldn’t represent him and they had to withdraw. ...
*********
In addition, the inauguration clock was running out on Trump. He didn’t have time to gather the best evidence of fraud and hand it to better lawyers. Indeed, the best evidence of fraud was developed after the inauguration.
It’s everywhere. From the Hill:
Powell appeared before Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee to enter her plea, just days before her trial was scheduled to begin next week. “How do you plead to the six counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties?” asked Daysha Young, a Fulton County prosecutor.
“Guilty,” Powell said.
McAfee accepted Powell’s plea and said that she cannot withdraw it. She was sentenced to six years’ probation, a $6,000 fine and $2,700 restitution. She will also be required to “testify truthfully” in future proceedings and must turn over any documents requested by the district attorney’s office.
Owen Shroyer also plead guilty of a free speech violation for a promise of no jail time, but then they gave him 60 days jail time anyway.
His crime? Continuing to say that the 2020 election was stolen.
You make a fair point. In some cases, Trump is a strategic thinker. As evidence of that, he keep the peace in the four years he was president. No problems from Putin. The Middle East was relatively calm. Etc. That was no easy feat!
In other cases, Trump doesn’t think even ten minutes ahead. That can be explained away. But it really can’t be excused. He’s got to do better, especially if he returns to the White House.
“Lawfare care financially break innocent people.”
No kidding. You’ve got the bottomless pot of money on the side of The Crooked State vs limited funds available to the citizen. Then, as cotton1706 says above, The State pressures lawyers to not represent certain clients. There was a report the other day that even Trump’s resources are getting strained (I don’t know about the veracity of that report).
Worse, that bottomless pot of money available to The Crooked State is OUR tax payments. The bastards use OUR money against US.
I meant...
Not a single charge against those involved in the Russia Collusion attempt to overthrow the US government.
The voting machines worked fine. In fact, the whole plan to steal the election was predicated on the voting machines working perfectly.
The Democrats just went out and used those machines to accurately count many -- perhaps millions -- of ballots that were cast fraudulently. That's why all the hand recounts of paper ballots were almost 100% identical to what had been reported from the electronic voting and/or vote counting machines.
It wasn't the voting machines that were the source of the fraud. It was the ballots.
It's a question I’ve been asking my circle of friends. When Trump retakes the White house, who is in his cabinet that isn't deepstate? There is a myriad of positions to be filled and I don't have a clue who he has in mind. Everyone else he has ever picked has either written a negative book about him or thrown him under the bus.
Powell pleads guilty and agrees to testify in future trials.
Looks like the DeSantis supporters were right about Trump going down the river.
He certainly did an A+ job of it.
(Hint: He’s the guy who grew up with Bibi literally in his bed and defending his father for unconscionable crimes against a family member. He also got a $2B payoff for his service. And, as I said, his pop-in-law went along with it.)
Originally racketeering (!!) reduced to no jail time and relatively small fines and no trial - by fire.
It’s sad, but I wish her well.
You seem to be OK with a corrupt justice system as long as you get your way.
