A FedEx driver is being praised after a video went viral showing the driver killing a rattlesnake balled up next to a customer's front door.
A Ring security video posted to social media showed FedEx driver Matt Govier confronting an unexpected obstacle while delivering a package to the Nebraska home of Christie Jones, who had a rattlesnake balled up right next to the front door of the home.
The video shows the rattlesnake slithering up to the front porch of the home and eventually coming to a rest in the corner by the front door. Minutes later, Govier arrives on scene to deliver a package, only to hear the rattling of the snake nearby.

I like the ones who explain that rattlers kill mice and rodents.
I always tell them, your kid or dog is out in your yard. Would you rather them encounter a field mouse, or a rattler?
I shot one on my deck and the neighbor was one of the envirofreaks and bible thumper at the same time.. a dangerous combination. He admonished me that I killed one of God’s creatures and drove off in his Prius.
I tend to leave the non-poisonous varieties alone. The others get the hoe.
“You killed Slinky!”
Well slinky was stinky- had to go
Yeah but it’s ok to abort babies. What a world.
“too bad they are protected here in Minnesota”
That falls into the ask forgiveness rather than permission category don’t ya think?
Gonna have to prove I cut that sucker into 47 pieces.
“even if it’s a water moccasin or rattler invariably someone will suggest “rehoming” it”
Just ask them what their home address is for you to drop it off at, and I think those suggestions might stop.
Yep- it’s sad and disturbing that states have to actually pass laws to PROTECT unborns from murderous selfish people- It should be a moral given that we do not kill unborns- no matter the stage of development-
I sure wouldn’t want deer hanging out at my house. I’ve never heard of such here in NW GA. Doesn’t seem very “sporting” to shoot any “non-dangerous” animal just passing through. Animal Control serves a worthy purpose.
He’s a hero. Had the owner walked out and seen it she most likely would have become hissterical.
unreal- what a world we live in-
That’s a great idea, next time I’m gonna do just that 👍
I'm not of the kill any snake any time, anywhere inclination, but if I were unless I were a species identification expert, I wouldn't publicize it this way. Timber rattlers are protected in Nebraska unless an immediate threat which his picture indicates it wasn't.
Ever since Eve...
Now, here in SE AZ, small town, mostly seniors, we just call the Fire Dept. They come by, pick it up and release it further out in the unpopulated desert. No charge.
“Awww that’s just my pet snake Reggie”
