The Mount Dora City Council unanimously approved a divisive program that seeks to encourage local business owners to display opposition to hate crime stickers in a city that has zero hate crimes.
Mount Dora, located in suburban Central Florida, instituted the controversial program on Tuesday, while other issues, such as sustainable development and downtown parking woes, are greater concerns to residents.
Mount Dora calls the program the “Safe Place Initiative.” The program seeks to push every business or organization within the city limits to post a “symbol of safety” as a signal to patrons the business is safe “for the victims of LGBTQ+ crime.”
JUST IN: More divisive Woke nonsense from the City of Mount Dora, FL. The City Council has now instituted a new virtue-signaling sticker & program for business owners (at taxpayer expense.)
So if you don’t place a large rainbow sticker on the front door of your business… pic.twitter.com/obGZvHTrOe

Good prep for a kind of Kristallnacht — make sure to identify the “good” businesses so that the “bad” businesses can be boycotted, burned down, or otherwise cleansed.
“...the business is safe “for the victims of LGBTQ+ crime.”
I’d say yes, unfortunately.
And if we chose NOT to virtue signal like the other sheep, then what? Will somebody huf & puf and blow our doors down?
Over the years, Mount Dora went from quiet winter refuge with bass fishing to a trendy and booming small town with boutiques, good restaurants, a lakeside municipal sea plane base, and rising real estate values. Obviously, some Lefties have now snuck into power in the municipal government. Time for the local voters to purge them out.
I guess not.
Are these more of the “we believe” BS virtue-signaling signs?
If you Loot
We shoot
I guess that qualifies as “hate”
This was the summer of 2020. After watching looting and fires on Fairfax Blvd. with no attempt by law enforcement to deal with it, mainly because Mayor Douchenozzle Garcetti had literally kneeled to BLM I turned to my husband and said, just so you understand ... we are leaving. I will not live where there is no law enforcement.
Spent a year and a half in lovely Tennessee, now settled for good in southwestern Florida. Not a vagrant or tent in sight.
I would burn my business down before I’d display a rainbow flag.
Well, I guess I better ride on up to Mt Dora and raise some hell! Actually, Mt Dora is a cool, quaint little town. Tourist trap too!
Yup, been there, nice little town.
I saw the same boarded up stores and signs going up in October 2020. People were terrified that Trump would win, leading to more riots and looting.
Why would someone oppose stickers? They never hurt anybody.
