Maybe but abortion is a losing issue for the Republicans. The Democrats won't even have to ballot harvesting in 2024 and they can use the abortion issue to turn out their base and convince some independents, especially women who were on the fence due to the economy to vote for Biden and the Democrats.

Moreover, Caroline Wren’s recent appearances on Steve Bannon’s Warroom leave me extremely discouraged at Trump’s prospects for winning next year.
She reported late this week that the RNC is basically broke, down to less than $10 million and has virtually no ground game in place to GOTV Moreover, Ronna McDaniel doesn’t seem to give a damn about doing what’s necessary to put the GOP on a level playing field.

Special elections are special. More than anything else, they reflect the strength of party fundraising, GOTV organization, and relative candidate merit. All of those factors are diluted and sometimes reversed in general elections with the presidency on the line.
