Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters he is "fine" shortly after he stopped speaking mid-sentence during a press conference on Wednesday.
McConnell, 81, was standing at the podium for his daily press conference before reporters when he suddenly stopped speaking while still looking forward. Nearly 30 seconds later his colleagues surrounded him, asking if he still wanted to speak to the press or go back to his office. At that point, McConnell turned away from the podium and stood nearby while his colleagues took the microphone.
Eventually, McConnell returned to the microphone, where he answered questions about what had just occurred

McConnell suffered a mini-stroke.
My comment wasn’t as much about 18 year old people voting as it was about people who contribute nothing, but only detribute from society.
The left says that I want to disenfranchise people, but the system is set up so that they disenfranchise me.
Mitch McConnell should have retired after the election in 2020. There’s nothing left for him to do. He was able to get the Justices he wanted on the Supreme Court. Time to enjoy retirement before he goes under.
Everyone says they’re fine after a TIA next time he’s in the hospital for a month trying to get toothpaste on the brush.
When you weren’t trying to do an impression of a mannequin for almost a minute but did, you’re not fine.
Luckily he was wearing Depends.
I know people that are nearly 60 who have never registered to vote.
They probably ship Depends in, to the Capitol, by the pallet, for these geezers.
remember when it used to be called “a senior moment”? now it’s called “a Brandon moment”.
He had that “I just shat myself” look on his face. If he exited the room shuffling like a penguin... he shat himself.
My dad never voted in his life, but he contributed to society every day.
Once again, my comment wasn’t as much about age as it was about allowing contributors to vote, while preventing those who only drain the system the same voice.
Yeah, Mitch…you aren’t fine.
Retire.
This momentary light headedness by a Republican - who returns to the podium minutes later and completes the press conference apparently having recovered - gets all of this extra press attention when far more frequent and much more severe mental lapses by Biden - who is the President, not a Senator - get scant coverage.
Looked very similar to what happened to Hillary when she froze and they tossed her into that van.
Then she turned up a little while later that same day and acted just fine. Things that make you go hmmm?
Sometimes the drugs wear off and it takes time for the next dose to be effective.
That’s why Biden spends all his weekends in the Delaware beach house where there’s minimal contact with staff.
Could be that’s it but still very strange and very similar to Hillary’s incident.
They both froze just like my computer screen does when my internet signal glitches. And then everything starts right where it left off when the internet connection reconnects. lol
Thanks for posting that.
Cringeworthy.
The man does not look well.
McConnell left rehab and returned to work way too soon for someone who suffered a concussion that caused an obvious brain injury-but that seems to be what members of congress do-I guess they know the longer they are absent, the greater the chance any dirty deals they have will be exposed. Like Harry Reid, Feinstein,-or more recently, Fetterman-now, McConnell-it isn’t concern for their constituents or the desire to be at work doing the job they were elected for that sends them back to work too soon after a major head/brain trauma-it is the fear of being charged with a crime. Notice how Nancy Pelosi always appears with a new facelift/botox only when she returns from recess...
