RINCON, Ga. — A Georgia Lowe’s store employee has been fired after trying to stop thieves from stealing thousands of dollars worth of stuff.
Police said three people came into the store in Rincon and loaded up their shopping cart with about $2,100 worth of merchandise.
As they were trying to leave the store without paying, employee Donna Hansbrough, 68, grabbed the cart, trying to stop them, police said.

As for Hansbrough, she was fired from Lowe’s for violating the store’s policy, police said.
She had been employed at the store for 13 years.

Our local Walmart people are quite friendly and helpful; Lowe’s not so much.
I feel pretty much the same way. But, where do we shop for the type of supplies and tools offered by the big box? All major players have similar policies. The “mom & pop” business either simply doesn’t exist or hopelessly inadequate.
Look up how to write sarcastically.
I don’t know why so many do not grasp this.
Another business to boycott. The Lowe’s CEO should learn from what’s happening to Target and Bud. These guys are DUMB.
My son just bought a new house and needs a few $thousand in power hand tools. I told him to swing by Lowe’s and load up on Bosch and Milwaukee and just wave at the guys behind the check-out counters. /sarcasm

Are you saying that you would not risk you life to save your employer from losing a $59.00 drill?
The problem is that you take out a phone and start a video of a thief the thug can pull out a gun in the store and shoot you!! The absolute maximum that can be done is to get the license # of the car, NEVER getting close to the thug, if you can not get the license # without being noticed by the thug, or getting to close to the thug STAY AWAY!! These people today are absolutely out of control, they would just shoot you or stab you for looking at them the wrong way!! There is NOTHING inside of ANY BUSINESS worth your life!! I am telling you people today ARE NOT in any way the same as people from even a decade ago!!!

Store employees stopping shoplifters? Too much liability. Hiring extra security? Too costly and also liability. Raise prices to cover the loss? Bingo.
First, shop less...much less. We have been endoctrinated to think we need all that “stuff”.
Second, grow a garden. Yes, it will not sustain you and your family but it is less. Or, buy at a farmer’s market.
Third, find any small store. They do exist.
We will not get totally away from them but dramatically reduce is my goal.
