Discuss the issues all you wish, BUT DO NOT MAKE IT PERSONAL!
Remember to use common courtesy when posting to FR. Leave off the insults and flames, name calling, etc.
We are conservatives. Be respectful to your debate adversary (fellow FReeper). For example, do not accuse them of being a "Putinista", "commrade", "murderer", "baby-killer", etc, just because he may have a difference of opinion whether or not the US government should be involved in a controversial foreign war where we were not attacked.
Likewise, things in the presidential primary are getting over-heated. We want to be sure we come out of this with a Republican president, house and senate. The only way we can accomplish that is to unify the Republican Party. We can't destroy our own candidates. Whoever it is will need to pull us ALL together. Keep the ultimate goal in sight - Freedom! We are not here to fight each other. We are here as allies to fight for God, family, country, and FREEDOM! As William Wallace said in Brave Heart, "Unite the clans!".
Your personal favorite may be Ron DeSantis, mine happens to be President Trump. But if DeSantis receives the nomination, I'll support him, as I hope most other FReepers will.
Incidentally, we are getting way too much profanity. This is NOT DU, this is NOT CNN - (in deep voice) this IS FR!
Finally, if someone says STOP, then STOP! If someone asks you to take them off your ping list, then take them off! If someone asks you to stop posting to them, the adult and polite thing to do is to accommodate them.

Thank you, Jim, for reminding us. Your message probably needs to be repeated ofen. I always felt uncomfortable when someone feels the need to be harsh with me when responding to my comments - especially in private. When things get too hot, I always let him/her to have the last word, but that doesn’t mean I lost the fight.
No matter how harsh one feels, there’s ALWAYS A WAY TO REWORD ANY REMARK with a much friendlier tone, without changing the narrative. And I can’t help but wonder if he/she is some liberal who insists on stepping on my tail - just to irritate me.

Nice to again get a thread to declare these basic civility rules.
I’d note the same premise was posted about over a few Christmas seasons. And the most basic rules are (usually) indicated on the posting page.
Here’s what I told a friend of mine who’s a Leftist:
“I don’t mind talking about this stuff as long as it is level-headed, rational, and friendly. And as you know, I don’t mind talking about politics or “religion” IF both of us are offering arguments that are thoughtful and reasonably rational and supported and both can respect the efforts of the other without necessarily agreeing with their conclusions.”
If we on the Right and FR cannot show love and courtesy to our fellow man, especially those of like faith and love of freedom, then we certainly don’t have much to offer the Lost Left. They’ll look at us and say, “I have enough problems, who needs that?”

Thank you. This site used to be wonderful for having real honest discussions of issues. Tempers flared occasionally but it was all a matter of free expression and then apologies if you had gotten too free..lol!
