Cocaine discovered in the White House on Sunday was found in a cubby hole in a West Wing entry area where visitors place electronics and other belongings before going on tours, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
The Secret Service is investigating the matter, the White House said. "They're checking visitor logs and ... looking at cameras. Those are the next steps. Cross-checking," said the source.
White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters: "Where this was discovered is a heavily traveled area where many ... West Wing visitors come through."

NO! NO! It was over there in the Cubby Holes! Don't even bother looking in the Library because we were told it wasn't there. ONLY in the heavily trafficked area of the West Wing. Assign a dozen agents to do nothing for the next few weeks but look over and over again at those security cameras:. DON'T waste even a minute of precious time looking at the library security camera recordings since we have been told the cocaine was NOT in the library. STAY AWAY FROM THE LIBRARY!!!

Well, remembering the “Travelgate” fiasco, I will guess they will look for some White House employee who is a holdout from the Trump, or even the Bush administration, and try to find a way to blame them.

I think the plea deal is set to be formally done July 26, so he is not on probation yet.
But yes the terms of probation should say something like “remain drug free, do not knowingly be in an area where illegal drugs are present, do not knowingly associate with anyone using illegal drugs and submit to random drug testing”.
How strict the probation authorities will be with him is another question.
Now they are just getting around to looking at the cameras? If you know where the cocaine was left, it should not be hard to figure it out. I do things like this with my security cameras all the time. I always like to go back and see what happened.
Very simple; pick up the container, check for fingerprints, and arrest Hunter. Couldn’t be any simpler!

Special guest VIP tours (which require higher background investigation) including the oval office, VERY closely GUARDED and tightly escorted by SS AND you can carry your camera/phone then also.
Leaving electronic devices is only before entering a SCIF and prior to security briefings.
