Ron DeSantis on if He Would Support Donald Trump: ‘I Don’t Think It’s Going to Ultimately Matter’
Breitbart ^ | 06/22/2023 | HANNAH BLEAU

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Thursday said he does not believe it will “ultimately matter” when asked if he would personally support former President Donald Trump if he emerges as the Republican nominee in 2024, using the opportunity to criticize the GOP frontrunner.

A reporter asked DeSantis about Trump’s attacks against him, inquiring, “Regardless of his attacks, will you 100 percent pledge to support Trump as a GOP nominee?”

DeSantis, however, initially refused to overtly state if he would personally support Trump. Rather, he first criticized Trump’s line of attack, particularly on DeSantis’s handling of the coronavirus, only later adding that the process — people’s final decision — should be respected.

Ron, The Donald is going to blow you out of the water and your support means nothing.

Proof he’s swamp? Evidence?

I mean besides just “Trump told me so”...

That’s wild considering they treated Ted Cruz for not immediately endorsing Trump after primaries.

Trump will run as a 3rd party candidate so no, he won’t endorse a Gutless Old Plutocrat (GOP) candidate.

Think whatever you like. It doesn't matter to me and you're going to do it anyway.

A shame you don't expend your boundless energies in more productive pursuits that attacking people on your own side, while the real enemy is sharpening a knife with your name on it.

His answer evokes flashbacks to when Charlie Crist asked him if would pledge to serve out his full year term as governor, if re-elected.

"Think whatever you like. It doesn't matter to me and you're going to do it anyway."

Glad you finally came to your senses. You don't know me, so you have no idea what my private pursuits are. You seem to think you know everyone intimately, despite never having known them personally. Why you would even tell someone how they should be spending their time, when it's none of your business makes you sound like a liberal. And who am I "attacking that is on my side"? Pray tell me. I'd love to hear it.

Why, what started this dialog, for lack of a better term -- your baseless and hyperbolic attacks on DeSantis, which you apparently don't remember.

You really do need to give yourself a rest. Your memory is failing you.

And the real enemy is on the move.

Prove it's baseless.

No, I don't think Trump will matter. The key is whether his cult following will wake up and get aboard to vote for DeSantis or whoever is on the ballot or if they stay home or vote for a Democrat or throw their vote away on a 3rd party. I am increasingly convinced that by the time we get to November 2024, neither Biden nor Trump will be on the ballot.

Maybe we could get a national agreement now for both to drop out for the good of the country and let both spend their days with their respective families. Maybe even give both pardons and work on a national reset for the country?

A political whore? How so? And how does this compare to covorting with whores and pornstars?

A political whore? How so?

His (shameful) backpeddling on Ukraine, trolling for Bush donors, telling donors privately he won't bother China. Turning on Trump the minute it served him well. Bumch of other blundering.

You know - like some POLITICAL WHORE. It's not like you haven't seen it yourself... right here.

I keep telling people I really like Desantis, but sorry, he's fkn it up for himself and others. Plus, he's a shitty campaingner - one of the worst - and comes across as insincere.

He need more time in the minors. He was just a congressman a few years ago.

“Given that, I still want them to debate.”

Debate what? DeSantis will say how Trump did everything wrong, and Trump will say he will continue to MAGA. I can bet you that DeSantis will stay clear of MAGA.

“Trump’s baggage is already well known.”

You mean the baggage assigned to him by the DOJ, the FBI, the MSM? Why would you consider their smears his baggage?

"Political whore" is over the top. Again, consider where this 'information' is coming from. You have to rise above the noise and stay objective. "C'mon, man!" $;-)

All I can say is that if DeSantis is indeed some deep state, globalist apparatchik, his work here in Florida over the last six years is a really weird way of showing it. That doesn't get the credit it deserves, as we have seen right here by some people's comments.

All of this sturm und drang has definitely got me thinking about things, DeSantis and what he's really all about, as well as Trump and what really drives him, and last but not least, what drives some folks to worship him as some sort of man-god. Not you, not me, but do I need to name names? Dogs can be really useful in a combat zone -- rabid dogs, not so much.

None of this really bodes well for our side. Toss in the DNC vote-fraud machines across the country, combined with the lethal-levels of stupidity sown amongst the "American People", and things looks pretty damned grim. From what I am seeing at this point in time, it looks like we are going to lose -- again -- and maybe we deserve to. We could do better, but we don't. Not being fatalistic here. Being realistic.

It's our kids I'm really sorry for. They didn't deserve this. Any of it.

I don't think he's deep state, but many deep-staters, MAGA haters and Bush people are flocking around him, and he's also taking their money - a lot of it. They're going to want something for it. I would. How much he he delivers or not remains to be seen.

Mainly because he's broke, but still doesn't look good. Neither does him jumping in with the 20 other self-serving back-bemchers.

It makes him look like them.

I’m saying all this, but have very mixed feelings about Trump as nominee...lol.

It’s not ideal, but unless he’s dead or incapacitated, it’s the reality. Desantis will NEVER overcome Trump’s base... and he knows this.

Desantis is a “climber” so he’s hoping Trump dies or becomes incapacitated. Trump will not take him as VP.

You know, that "climber" descriptor sounds to me as close as I've heard so far as to what's pushing the Ron. I myself have perceptions that he took bad advice, and does have some perhaps premature ambitions. But he also sees what is (deliberately) broken in our nation, and, like Trump, wants to fix it. He hasn't been in the politics game as long as many, but hell, Trump jumped in with both feet in 2016 and did pretty good. He was a lawyer, and knows how the system works and how to work the system. I'd toss in his military service, but Pete Buttgig's 'service' canceled that out. $8-D

And we also know what's pushing the Don, and that's a desire for retribution (we can relate to that), to fix everything the left has sabotaged (just like last time, and probably just as transitory), to hopefully crucify en mass every bad-stabbing deep state bastard and bastardette that stabbed him in the back, and a dose of ego thrown in for good measure.

Trump does know who he's dealing with now, and I'd expect him to behave accordingly. No quarter this time. It would be glorious. Scary as all hell... but glorious. And we get to keep the best governor in these 50 states right here, kicking all sorts of woke asses, which have needed a kicking for far too long.
