MSNBC president open to Trump town hall with ‘parameters’

MSNBC President Rashida Jones indicated on Monday that she’d be open to having former President Trump, who is running for the White House in 2024, on the network for a town hall event with “parameters” in place to “control the environment.”

“If Trump came to you specifically and says, ‘I want to be on your air to do it,’ would you say yes?” Axios reporter Sara Fischer asked Jones, alluding to a potential on-air town hall with the former president.

“Would I say yes? It would be a conversation. I think you’d have to put parameters about how to control the environment,” Jones said during the interview at the 2023 Cannes Lions Festival, according to a clip from the outlet.

Parmeters as in he would agree to not say anything MSNBC would not like?

Parameters.....

Like, bleeping out 90% or more of what he has to say. MSNBX and CNN will never have a true town-hall even where ‘free speech’ is honored if their guest is a republican or conservative. Trump says, ‘I will honor the 2nd amendment and free speech’ and the moderator will say, “you can’t say that!” and bleep him.

Both sides would find material benefit in working together for another town hall. Even though this network president may despise anything-Trump like, she would be a fool to say no to the basic idea. Trump might not know how to pick heads of the FBI, CDC or CIA, but he knows how TV works.

In other words they would edit out anything that Trump said that made his case - and highlight places where they zinged him.

MSNBC... always unfair, always biased, and always bimbo control freak crap.

Nah, it would mean they could edit out anything that made Trump look good on the grounds it was ‘disinformation’ and they could run short videos highlighting others attacking him. Think of it as the January 6th hearings where only one side was allow to present their side...

Trump could have a town hall on Twitter, live and unedited, and have a much bigger audience than MSNBC.

He could invite them to the town hall there.

Better yet, make it be a precondition that if it’s on MSNBC, Trump gets his own camera and does an unedited simulcast to Twitter, Truth Social, and Rumble.

The maggots know he is a ratings bonanza. At the same time they can’t let him get political advantage out of it.

I wasn't a fan of the Hannity pre-taped interviews.

First, Hannity uses it to hype his own program.

Second, he edits it and shows it in pieces over several nights.

Third, Hannity uses it to feature himself more than President Trump.

Live formats are the only way to go, and without a seven-second delay where the network can censor Trump in real time over "disinformation."

I think you’d have to put parameters about how to control the environment

IOW: Trump would have to agree to allow editing to keep the interviewer and MSNBC from looking like the fools that they are.

NATIONAL FILE.......source.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow informed her viewers that the network would not be carrying Trump’s post-arrest speech live, saying, “We do not intend to carry his remarks live, as we have said before in these circumstances there is a cost to us as a news organization to knowingly broadcast untrue things, we are here to bring you the news, it hurts our ability to do that if we broadcast live what we fully expect in advance to be limey of lies of false accusations.”

He’s not going on that channel for you to watch. Singing to the choir does not get you new votes.

Trump policies and conservative policies make a lot of sense when explained.

I say Good for Trump

...because it’s all lib propaganda. Much more valuable political real estate than going on Newmax for more votes

so they can edit and dlete as needed etc

Meaning that, they'd end up airing nothing after editing and deleting. They'd have to find a Gilligan's Island episode to play instead.
