…Demographic data compiled in the 2016 and 2020 elections showed that the top 40 percent of income earners preferred the Democratic candidate for president (Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden) over the Republican (Donald Trump), signifying a sizable coalition shift from where the party was in the previous decade.
Recent data shows the trend is likely baked in. In a CNBC survey, America's millionaires said they are more likely to support Biden over Trump in the upcoming presidential election by double-digit margins. And most of the nation's voters are not wealthy.
…
In the 2016 election, approximately 60 percent of white working-class voters voted for Trump, according to a Vanderbilt University study. Four years later, demographic data showed Trump's vote share in lower-income counties across the U.S. increased by several points, while Biden ran up the tally in higher-educated (and more affluent) urban and suburban counties.
Other data shows the working class squarely in conservatives' domain as well. Republicans represent 64 percent of congressional districts with median incomes below the national median, while nine of the 10 wealthiest congressional districts are represented by Democrats, according to data compiled by Democratic Ohio Representative Marcy Kaptur's office. To some degree, Fowler said, the trend is likely explainable in both parties' rhetoric: Democrats used to embrace the working class until they didn't.
…
Republican thought leaders, meanwhile, have seized on the opportunity.
Recent columns published by conservative outlets like The National Review have called for an end to government subsidies for corporations long-considered engines for economic development. Conservative pollsters like Rasmussen have also found an increasing affinity for ending "corporate welfare" among Republican voters across the country.

I accept your apology.
Maybe Hispanics will turn out to be a huge exploding cigar for the Democrats. I’m not banking on it but it seems like a distinct possibility.
Name one pre Trump GOP sponsored policy that specifically targeted the working class ( wage earners) that actually helped them or did something that would increase wages of the working class?
I'm going outside to play zzzzing zzzzzzzing on the jet skis now. Have a nice day!
Wanna bet what thus us really about, what's being coveted up, is that Harry is here on the type of visa that allows the Harkles to get outta paying US income taxes?
None of the reporting EVER mentions the tax angle.
And if our Deep State is covering up the fact that the IRS's boot isn't on the Harkles' throats...
Someone should just the Harkles to confirm or deny: Is Harry here on a visa that allows them to dodge income taxes?
Silence coming from them, as it does our Deep State, would speak volumes.
“And most of the nation’s voters are not wealthy.”
Directly because of Socialist Democrats and their Liberty, Economic and Soul-crushing agendas!
My Fellow Americans - get a freakin’ CLUE!
Tax cuts were across the board. I am talking about specific policy that GOP sponsored pre Trump the was for the benefit the workiing class ( wage earners ). I can name dozens that hurt the working class.
Most small businesses and farms do no such thing. Medium and large corporations often do, but most small businesses have the owner doing much of the work and barely getting by in many cases.
You often seem agitated by issues of employment and interest rates. Sorry for whatever caused that.
Democrats can’t exist without the rich to help them steal elections cover up their crimes.
That is the Bush, Cheney, Paul Ryan Republican party.
The party of crooks and liars more fitting.
Most businesses registered in the U.S. are sole proprietorships with no employees.
“Democrats Being Party of the Rich Could Cost Them 2024 Election”
I’m sure after wining the 2020 election via fraud they haven’t expanded their plans for the 2024 election.
Uh, if it weren’t for the rich people, the Democrats wouldn’t be able to afford the costs of stealing an election . . .
The working class , in which include myself, have been for years voting for the GOP and against their self interest only because the alternative Dems are basically left wing fascist.
Republicans should advocate raising taxes on them. The more elite Democrats stop them the more the rest of Democrat voters will see the phonies they are. For the last generation we have lowered taxes on the wealthy and accomplished nothing else. And now that they have their lower taxes they vote Democrat. Does that explain why we never accomplished conservative agendas that did not benefit them?
BTTT
Biden won't be their candidate, they can't allow him to run.
