…Demographic data compiled in the 2016 and 2020 elections showed that the top 40 percent of income earners preferred the Democratic candidate for president (Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden) over the Republican (Donald Trump), signifying a sizable coalition shift from where the party was in the previous decade.
Recent data shows the trend is likely baked in. In a CNBC survey, America's millionaires said they are more likely to support Biden over Trump in the upcoming presidential election by double-digit margins. And most of the nation's voters are not wealthy.
…
In the 2016 election, approximately 60 percent of white working-class voters voted for Trump, according to a Vanderbilt University study. Four years later, demographic data showed Trump's vote share in lower-income counties across the U.S. increased by several points, while Biden ran up the tally in higher-educated (and more affluent) urban and suburban counties.
Other data shows the working class squarely in conservatives' domain as well. Republicans represent 64 percent of congressional districts with median incomes below the national median, while nine of the 10 wealthiest congressional districts are represented by Democrats, according to data compiled by Democratic Ohio Representative Marcy Kaptur's office. To some degree, Fowler said, the trend is likely explainable in both parties' rhetoric: Democrats used to embrace the working class until they didn't.
…
Republican thought leaders, meanwhile, have seized on the opportunity.
Recent columns published by conservative outlets like The National Review have called for an end to government subsidies for corporations long-considered engines for economic development. Conservative pollsters like Rasmussen have also found an increasing affinity for ending "corporate welfare" among Republican voters across the country.

They didn’t ‘pounce’ this time?
As long as state legislatures continue to allow cheat-by-mail-in ballots, Democrats have nothing to worry about. Every election in 2024 will end the way it did with Kari Lake.
But not the 2024 Steal.
If we started deporting freeloading, illegal aliens (the banana boater voters), that would really screw the Dung Beetle turd roller party in 2024.
The GOP is in the process of rejecting the working class and Trump.
Which leave the GOP in a quandary. The GOPe hates the working class and their rich donor class is going over to the Demo-fascist. What’s a party to do?
Haven’t we all had enough? We need a new party. This one is 100% compromised.
The Democrat Party is the party of LGBTQPEDOGROOMERS, Blacks, Jews,Union Thugs, and women who only care about having more ABORTIONS!
You’re right HandBasketHell.
It’s over. No more election wins except deep state candidates. I’ll still vote but I am under no illusion that any America first candidate will ever win.
Here and there we will see enough controlled opposition to maintain a modicum appearance of two parties.
remember 2020. Millions of ballots will magically appear. Democrats will win again.
That’s why the RINO’s have steadily been losing the power struggle with MAGA. Its only going to continue. MAGA will take over more precincts, target and defeat more RINOs in the primaries and seize more of the levers of power within the party.
The RINOs just have to be hunted down one by one.
Die. WHIG v2.0.
That's why WEF is waging war on the middle class, small business owners, and farmers. Sounds like another famous (infamous) guy's plan: "The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation."
Small business owners, and farmers are by definition not working class. Those two groups thrive on cheap ( working class ) labor whether legal or illeagl. That is just a fact.
Wrong. There's a reason nobody will hire you, and "illeagls" aren't it.
Another factor you should consider is that the rapidly increasing number of Asian American voters vote for the Democratic Party. Like white liberals, they tend to be upper income, often professionals and, if educated in this country, have attended the same universities that their white liberal counterparts have attended. The Hispanic population on the other hand is more problematical for the Democratic Party. The immediate immigrants usually vote for the Democrats. However, Hispanics, like the Italian, German, and Slavic voters of yesteryear, tend to assimilate into the white working class population, especially in the third generation.
Sorry, facts are facts. By definition farmers and business owners are not “working class”. That isn’t to say they don’t work hard but they are self employed and are users of the working class - both legal and illegal labor. I am not saying this is bad, it is just the way it is.
