Senior Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are raising concerns about what role Trump-appointed federal judge Aileen Cannon will have in handling the case the Department of Justice is bringing against former President Trump.
Cannon, a member of the conservative Federalist Society who was confirmed to sit on the district court for the Southern District of Florida shortly after the 2020 election, made headlines last year when she ruled that an independent arbiter must review the 13,000 government records seized from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in August.
Her decision was later struck down by a three-judge panel made up from members of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Trump was indicted last week on 37 federal counts that accused him of violating the Espionage Act and conspiring to obstruct justice.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said Cannon’s record overseeing the federal investigation of Trump’s handling of top-secret documents raises serious questions about her neutrality.

Funny how this story goes out of its way to paint the judge as a right wing radical, yet never goes into the politics or which President appointed the three judges on the 11th Circuit who overruled her.
Unfortunately these cushy jobs are for a lifetime, and they rather be popular with their inner circle then with the people. This is how bad our legal system has gotten here in America. I wonder how many judges across the US get money under the table to rule certain ways. Honorable judges are beginning to be extinct. We the peasants are finally beginning to see reality of what our nation has become. There is no fairness for our side. It’s only a one-way street for conservatives and Christians …guilty before being proved innocent!

is a link to an opinion by an African American judge, then on the federal trial court in Philadelphia, who was presiding over a race discrimination case brought by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania against a labor union. The union asked the judge to recuse because he was black and the victims were black. They cited his public writing in favor of integration and his dissatisfaction with the law as it then stood as a tool for achieving integration. He refused to recuse.
By the way: Judge Cannon was born in Colombia. She’s a wise Latina!

Given the proclivity of the left to project, since they have charged Trump with Espionage, they must have video of Biden showing his buddy Chen Ho how to login to his email.
Democrats only want the Trump hanging judge. They’re vicious (but we know that).
Of course, they have no problem with the DC rat infested jury pool.
