Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is coming to New York for a private presidential campaign fundraiser that’s set to be hosted by at least four Wall Street executives, including one with past ties to a firm backed by liberal billionaire George Soros, a frequent target of DeSantis and other Republicans.
The event is scheduled to take place June 29 at the swanky Yale Club, according to a copy of an invitation seen by CNBC. It will be one of DeSantis’ first fundraisers in the Big Apple since he officially launched his campaign for president last month.
It also comes soon after Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the 2024 GOP primary, was indicted on dozens of counts in a state case in Manhattan and a federal case in Miami.

And add DeSantis to that list. One can’t forget he dragged that ungrateful Meatball over the finish line in 2018.
Yeah, but DeSantis governed as a true conservative and won by nearly 20% during reelection.
If a politician becomes ungrateful to people who helped him while taking lobbyists money 💰 I suppose he qualifies as a “true conservative”
“For those keeping track, these are the people Rob DeSantis has fundraising for Him:”
A little short on the facts ...
Will Hal “Credit Susie” Lambert and HIS $60 million donation to ensure good government be there?
“Oh, forget Soros, leave him alone, he’s got enough problems,” Trump said at a 2011 Tea Party rally when one attendee yelled the billionaire’s name at him.
“He goes, ‘What about Soros!’” Trump continued. “Let’s talk about somebody else.”
What happened to that lawsuit where Trump and Soros were c0-defendents?
“That was a business deal, and Trump paid it back.”
Did he?
————————He didn’t repay these on that Chicago deal———
Trump, through two of his LLCs, had taken out more than $700 million in loans for the project from Germany’s Deutsche Bank and Fortress Investment Group, a private equity firm.

RDS is delightful
And?
He was able to do what he did because he had no opposition in the legislature.
Same reason Newsome can pass whatever he wants.
As POTUS it is unlikely he will have no opposition.
Are you familiar with the meaning of the word “loan.”
Uniparty gonna uniparty.
As Reagan once explained, when someone donates to your campaign, they are supporting you, not visa versa.
Isn’t Trump a former Soros partner?
No. Soros was part of a team of investors who leant money to the Trump organization for one of his building projects. The bulk of the financing for the project came from Deutch Bank. The team of investors, of which Soros was a part, leant a smaller amount to Trump through what’s known as a “mezzanine-loan”. Trump was 11 years away from entering politics at the time.
Reagan wasn't a businessman in NY City, New Jersey, and elsewhere that needed support of politicians on both sides of the aisle in order to be able to see his projects brought to fruition. People donate to candidates because they support their policies, but they also donate, hoping they will be able to come back and ask for a favor at some point. I doubt Reagan didn't realize that when he took supporter's money.
He almost lost to Andrew Gillum for his first term. And he's been able to govern as a conservative because he's had a 2-1 Republican majority in the State Legislature since he's been elected. He's never served in an office where Republicans didn't have the majority. The years he was in Congress in Washington, Republicans controlled the House every year. After he left, Democrats took control of the House.

Are you referring to the millions that Trump didn’t repay?
