Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to Donald Trump's recent attack on former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, saying that it was "really, really bad."
"Donald Trump, even his greatest supporters have acknowledged, had a tough time picking good people. He had a lot of terrible personnel decisions, people like Jerome Adams, his Surgeon General...so we know there was a tough record, but Kayleigh was one of the greatest selections. She did a fantastic job," DeSantis, who is also a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said while appearing on the NH Journal podcast on Friday.
DeSantis added: "She's a Harvard-trained lawyer, she's an absolute killer, and she ate the press alive, and so for him [Trump] to be attacking her, I thought that was really, really bad."

I’m convinced that DeSantis got in against all odds because he is being told that Trump will be “taken out” and he will be the nominee. And maybe that’s true …
I think that’s a good chance. Rhonda deliberately doesn’t attack Trump too much because he thinks Trump still be eliminated as a candidate.
He has his paid lackeys do it on the internet but with plausible deniability.
He never stood up against Fauci and Birx. Then he also denigrated the Great Barrington Declaration.
He was just as complicit in the lockdowns as everyone in Trump's administration.
Fair enough point. But I have read too many posts from people on this and other sites who have literally said “Trump or nothing”.
My error. I was thinking about Scott Atlas.
Rupert has a personal bias against people of faith
Paul Ryan is uniparty and stopped Trump when he could
Lachlan Murdoch is a lefty
It’s toxic but they love the billion a year cash flow from Fox News
So they try to thread this imaginary needle of bash Trump and appear right leaning at the same time
However you get through the day.
If Ron held a rally, people would drive in and beep instead on clap.
“His primary support comes from people like Mitt Romney, GW Bush, Paul Ryan, Liz Cheney, Mitch McConnel, and etc. etc...”
All you Trump cultists keep repeating this BS, but no one can ever provide any evidence to support it. So back up your claim or STFU. And don’t post BS links about endorsements for Governor in 2018 or 2022, or generic statements about his candidacy as opposed to Trump - the people you mentioned will support anyone over Trump. Provide specific statements that they are endorsing Desantis over all the other GOP candidates.
“By the way you Trump Derangement goobers - how did you like the RINO victory on the Budget?”
Funny, that “RINO victory” can be laid squarely at the feet of Trump. McCarthy was Trump’s pick to be Speaker. As hard as it was for McCarthy to win the job, he never would have won without Trump’s support. Actual conservatives wanted someone else.
“Meghan was NOT one of his 16 opponents, just another MSM shill. Like Kayleigh.”
Did I say Kayleigh was a primary opponent?
The sentiment has been often stated here that Trump “attacking” poor little Kayleigh would outrage his supporters.
It did not when he called out Meghan Kelly, and for all I know, Kelly probably now supports Trump, after all she has been through and witnessed.
And as for Trump’s primary attacking him, they unleased everything but the kitchen sink.
If DeSantis is pro MAGA and he wins the nomination, they of course will try to steel the election.
For now they just want Trump and DeSantis to take each other out, to clear the way for their guy.
Trump exposed the Republican Party and the conservative movement within it as a bunch of all talk do nothings who write strongly worded letters to the left and don’t have the spine to do anything else. He opened the eyes of many Republican voters that weren’t already opened. That’s why the establishment hates his guts! They will do everything they can to deny Trump the nomination and I believe they will succeed.
I think too this will tear the GOP apart as many Trump voters will abandon the party and frankly I don’t think the elites who run the RNC really care. They want to keep their place at the Deep State table and if that means the Republican Party is eventually reduced to a lesser party status in local, regional and national politics so be it. The bottom line is they want Trump gone from being a major political player!
There’s a reason why Tim Scott got in the race and why there’s talk of Glenn Youngkin re-entering the race as well. One of those two may be the GOP nominee once Trump and DeSantis are taken down. That looks to be the game plan.
Just look at that Ronnie D momentum….Trump is toast! (sarc)
Burp.
Sounds like Kayleigh McEnany just landed a new job just in time cash getting low.
I don't listen to Hannity, but, I read on line he had a town hall somewhere and basically told Trump to knock it off.
