DeSantis Says Trump Should’ve Fixed America in One Term. Then Says He’ll Need Two.

Governor Ron DeSantis is either getting his messaging mixed, or admitting he would be half as effective a President as Donald Trump.

Trump, playing to his experience in the job, goaded the Florida governor this week, stating: “When [DeSantis] says eight years, every time I hear it, I wince… because I say, if it takes eight years to turn this around, then you don’t want him… as your president.”

When told about Trump’s remarks, DeSantis snapped back: “Why didn’t he do it his first four years?”

But speaking on stage in Iowa, DeSantis said: “Let’s just be clear, it really does take two terms as president to be able to finish this job… And I don’t think he could fix it in one single four-year term.”

His messaging doesn’t seem to be working.

“Trump’s strength is his term as president,” George Pierson, a college student from Waukee told CNN.

Still, good news that DeSantis admitted Trump’s four years in office were his “first”. Conceding so soon, Ron?

For that matter, any conservative. They would have no problem with a squishy RINO, though.

The level of confirmation bias on DeSantis is astonishing.

I don’t believe that he is ready, has a lot of baggage, owes (and is malleable) to too many powerful people (and demonstrated) and crosses my defined line between right & left. Absent Trump dropping out or renewed attacks/relevations which destroy his support, DeSantis won’t get past the primary. Events in Jacksonville echo that the right’s hold on FL is tenuous (”Deep red”: What are you smokin?), especially when measured against the close elections. With dems backing disney, I seriously doubt that he’ll win his battle with them, and I believe that it’s a battle he/we NEED to win.

Leaving FL now for national office is exactly what the left wants because his work isn’t done, and DeSantis supporters for POTUS are directly helping the left by launching him prematurely into the 2024 race. My prediction: The primary race will dramatically weaken him as his hypocrisies are exposed nationally. Ironically, the leftist press has yet to unleash upon him (they’re holding back, which is because they want him to first weaken Trump. They will then destroy him).

“President Trump just called Ron DeSantis a globalist. He’s 100% right. Here’s a long thread with everything i know so far to validate his point.

1. War

DeSantis said Trump wasn’t tough enough on Russia and advocated for more lethal aid to Ukraine.
He also voted to sanction Iran, Russia and North Korea while Trump opposed it. Earlier he wrote a joint letter to John Kerry, asking him to force Ukraine to join EU to fight against Russia. His former press secretary is a foreign agent who worked for a Zelensky official.

He seemed to support a regime change in Venezuela. Called the current regime illegitimate and wanted a “free Venezuela”.

He also supported the unending war in Afghanistan, called to use everything in our arsenal.

Not to mention his best friend Kent Stermon, who was the COO of Total Military Management. DeSantis lived in his condo when he was in congress. And of course in return, he appointed him on board after he became the governor, just like he did to other lobbyists.

2. Trade

DeSantis voted for TPP 3x in congress. And he’s also backed by Club for Growth. Club for growth supports free trade and free market, which is against Trump’s fair trade. Club for Growth donated $2 million to him in August last year alone.

3. Immigration

DeSantis voted Nay on H.R. 1625 and H.R. 3354, both of which contained border wall funding. One of his biggest donors, David MacNeil, stopped supporting Trump because he tried to end DACA. But he supports DeSantis.

He sent 50 illegals to Martha’s Vineyard, and only resulted in them obtaining visas. His globalist donor Ken Griffin seemed to have some friends there, and asked him to stop it. He did. But the following two flights were already paid. And $950,000 tax dollars were wasted.

When talking about the 1986 Reagan Amnesty, he said he might go along with it if Reagan came to him.

He also sponsored a bill to make Puerto Rico a state. He wanted to please those Puerto Ricans who moved to Florida, just like he moved illegals from Texas instead of Florida, because he was scared to lose votes from them in his state. Even now FL is having a immigration crisis.

4. Energy

DeSantis banned fracking and offshore drilling, spent a lot of money on environmental issues, and invested a lot of money on electric buses. Even California allows offshore drilling. He also embraced Crist’s failed California solar energy subsidy model.

He’s also a climate hoax believer.

5. Connections

He called Bush 41, the one who brought up New World Order, the most inspirational person he had met, 20 years after his presidency. That explains his stance on wars, and his good relationship with Bush’s son, Jeb.

He also wanted to become someone like Paul Ryan. And we all know how bad Paul Ryan is. In return, Paul Ryan is backing him this time.

He was also proud of the endorsement from John Bolton. For details, see this thread

and the article written by @LauraLoomer

If There’s One Thing John Bolton Loves More Than War, It’s Ron DeSantis..

John Bolton has been cheerleading Ron DeSantis for an entire decade ... so it’s no wonder why he’s joining the chorus of RINOS and ingrates who are backstabbing President Trump ahead of 2024.

His former press secretary Christina Pushaw is the definition of a globalist. She is part of Warsaw Security Forum, and they’re partnered with many usual suspects. The current press secretary, Bryan Griffin, met Pushaw there.

Not to mention his globalist donors like China Ken Griffin, DACA David MacNeil and FTX Paul Tudor Jones, and a lot more. Pretty much everyone that supports him is a globalist.

Summary: Ron DeSantis is as globalist as it gets. President Trump is absolutely right on this, and he knows a lot more than I do. Stay tuned for the upcoming primary.”

How many people here found Bush “inspirational” twenty years ago?

Partisan loyalists have to believe things that will sound offensive or ridiculous years later, and politicians have to say things that they don’t entirely believe.

It’s the cost of doing business, like DJT’s contributions to Democrat politicians.

If you loved GWB, don’t throw stones.

“You dismiss DeSantis falsely.”

I don’t think so.

“Besides, Trump was supposed to be the master negotiator and business person, yet he failed miserably at picking people, at managing people, and at accomplishing anything beyond executive order dictate.”

You mischaracterize Trump’s record, and as I pointed out in my previous response, he was dealing with a level of obstructionism and resistance from Congress that DeSantis simply hasn’t had to face.

Trump was able to get funding for the border wall, but it took a lot of negotiations with a Congress that wasn’t interested in cooperating. It also required Trump to be creative in reallocating existing funds.

Another legislative achievement was opening ANWAR to drilling after so many years. And yet, THAT was shut down by Biden his first day in office, with an executive order, so legislation all by itself is not the answer. The problem s run too deep for such a simple solution. We have a system where a president can ipso facto shut something down permanently with a “temporary moratorium”. We also live in a world where a president can use “a pen and a phone” to violate the law with no consequences.

Even DeSantis has had to face the reality that legislation doesn’t always turn out to be the quick fix that it first appears to be. His battle with Disney is a perfect example. There are loop holes and work arounds as well as years long legal battles that can end up rendering some legislation useless.

As far as Trump’s picks, they weren’t all bad, nor was all the obstructionism he faced, the result of bad personnel choices on his part. Trump inherited a huge bureaucracy that is more corrupt than, and dwarfs that of Florida. He inherited a huge bureaucracy already staffed with corrupt deep staters that, under our current system, are difficult if not impossible to fire. And identifying them right out of the gate was next to impossible.

Kevin Clinesmith was never appointed by Trump or any other president for that matter, and yet he blatantly altered a FISA request that allowed the FBI to continue the surveillance of the Trump campaign.

I was pissed at GOP selection of gwb, but in the end we were left with little choice. I got the zot for questioning the origins of the Killian docs, and immediately was vindicated of my critique with gw’s gifting the CCP with the EP3 incident and failure to hold the crew accountable for their choice to land on a foreign/enemy military airfield rather than ditch or bail out. Then came patriot act; I wish him a painful, cancerous death.

In the end I was wonderfully wrong about Trump - though correct about his advisors - but I was never critical as with gwb, just cautious.

Keep on with your DeSantis confirmation bias, but you’re barking up the wrong tree on traitor gwb & ‘partisanship’.

One hundreds years to get this bad, but by all means act as
if it could all be fixed in one four year term, with the
DNC, RNC, GOPe, House, Senate, MSM, talking heads, the FBI,
the CIA, the NSA, many Leftist judges, and rogue DAs, and
tech internet firms censoring and participating in a coup
against him.

Ron has a lot to learn about how much a president can get
done with literally everyone in power against him.
