Elon Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink announced that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has approved its product for human trials.
“This is the result of incredible work by the Neuralink team in close collaboration with the FDA and represents an important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people,” Musk’s company wrote in a tweet.
“Recruitment is not yet open for our clinical trial. We’ll announce more information on this soon!” Neuralink added.
Neuralink has been a passion project for Musk since its founding in 2016. The tech mogul has stated in the past that the connection of the human brain to a computer holds promise for a broad range of applications, from restoring disabled patients’ eyesight and motor function to mentally controlling electronic devices.

Most of the replies poo pooing this appear to come from fully functional people. You’re right. This tech definitely has its uses and could bring incredible benefit to many.
All we have to do is make sure that its scope is kept under control, that the government is not allowed to get its hands on it, and that it can never be made mandatory.
There is no guarantee it will work what are the animal test results it’s a hell of a lot of let’s try this magic bean sale also no chip is going to do a 100% recovery.

There is no guarantee but there is the guarantee of complete helplessness if you don’t try. I can’t imagine anyone not suffering from paralysis or some other motor skill deficiency wanting a chip just because.
As long as they don’t give false hope that does more damage to one then anything else.
