Ancient tablet found on Mount Ebal predates known Hebrew inscriptions (Israel)
Jerusalem Post ^ | 05/15/2023 | JUDY SIEGEL-ITZKOVICH

An early Hebrew inscription from Mount Ebal near Nablus that was found on a folded lead tablet during an excavation in the 1980s recently underwent x-ray tomographic measurements to reveal hidden text.

Epigraphic analysis of the data revealed a formulaic curse written in a proto-alphabetic script likely dating to Late Bronze Age that predates any previously known Hebrew inscription in Israel by at least 200 years.

It translates into Hebrew. Dr. Doug Petrovich showed that proto siniatic and the proto cananite texts translate to Hebrew. The earliest texts appear to be from Mannasah about 400 years before Moses. What was attributed to the Phoenicians really came from the Hebrews.

The blessings and curses told by Jehovah to Moses and recorded by him are in the book of Deuteronomy 28, curses in verses 15-46 that Joshua was to remind the Israelites when the first altars on Ebal and Gerazim were dedicated.

No problem for you to find and read translation of them.

I heard that when translated it said “Don’t forget to drink your Ovaltine”.

“Galil said he believes that all 48 letters are clear on the scans and that the inscription dates to the end of the 13th century BCE, but the other authors believe it could be older.”

13th Century BC: first day of 1,300 BC to last day of 1,201

So “inscription dates to” around 1,210 to 1,201, “but the other authors believe it could be older.”

Well, when the ancient, prehistoric code analysis team ran this pre-Mosaic, pre-Hebraic, alphabetic code which they discovered there, through their Funky Waggoners decoder device, this is what the ancient curse turned out to be.

I thought prob that was it but without it being particularly connected to it wondered if it was like the Roman inscriptions they have found of curses addressed to particular individuals for personal grievances.

There is no "J" in Hebrew. It omly has the letter pronounced "yodh" for which English would be the letter "Y".

The letters pronounced yodh heth vav heth with appropriate vowel signage as a Hebrew word is rendered "Jehovah" in printed English, but properly pronounced "Yeh-hoe-vah" in English or German, not "Dzhyeh-hoe-vah."

The KJV/AV translators also put it in print as "LORD" or "GOD" (all upper case).

… As translated by the team, the tablet reads:

“Cursed, cursed, cursed—cursed by the God Yhw. You will die cursed. Cursed you will surely die. Cursed by Yhw—cursed, cursed, cursed.”…

Ancient Israelites spoke Aramaic, not Hebrew.

Ancient Israelites spoke Hebrew as an everyday language until the 3rd century BC when it was supplanted by Aramaic. Hebrew continued to be used in ceremonial and liturgical roles afterward.

I can see why this curse isn’t in the Bible. Sounds more like an angry spouse.
