Jury finds Trump DID sexually abuse E. Jean Carroll in Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s: Ex-President is cleared of rape but ordered to pay her $5m damages

A jury has found that Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll.

The panel of six men and three women also found that Trump injured advice columnist Carroll in a Manhattan Bergdorf Goodman dressing room and defamed her, ordering the former President to pay her $5million in damages.

Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct or assault by more than two dozen women, but this has so far been the only case to end up before a jury.

Carroll, 79, sued for battery under the Adult Survivors Act, a law passed in New York that allowed a one year window for sexual assault claims normally outside of the statute of limitations.

Her claim for defamation was based on statements made by Trump, 76, when he was President and posts to Truth Social, his own social network in which he called her a liar.

Over two weeks the jury heard emotional testimony from three accusers and two of Carroll's friends, among other witnesses, while Trump himself was a no show.

So you’re recommending he should have lied under oath in the depo?

She said she was raped. Jury found she lied about being raped. Then reached a compromised verdict inconsistent with the evidence. It will be overturned. - both Alan Dershowitz and Rudy say. Sorry to disappoint you TDSers.

In April 2019, prior to Mr Biden entering the presidential race, reports surfaced of the former vice president inappropriately touching women.

When asked by reporters, Ms Harris said she believed the women who spoke out against her now-running mate.

“I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it,” she said.

Multiple women accused Mr Biden of inappropriately touching them, including one Nevada politician who said the former vice president came up to her at a 2014 campaign stop and kissed the back of her head. This encouraged Mr Biden to release a video addressing the allegations against him.

“Social norms are changing. I understand that, and I’ve heard what these women are saying. Politics to me has always been about making connections, but I will be more mindful about respecting personal space in the future. That’s my responsibility and I will meet it,” he said.

Then Tara Reade, a former aide to Mr Biden, came forward about allegations of sexual assault when he was a US senator, all of which he has vehemently denied.

Ms Harris, who was a potential vice president candidate at the time, was asked about the allegations, saying Ms Reade “has a right to tell her story”.

“And I believe that and I believe Joe Biden believes that, too,” she said on the San Francisco Chronicle podcast.

He’s not a convicted anything (since this was a civil case), and even if he was, you can’t keep someone “off the ballot” for President with a mere state conviction.

Tranquila, por favor-that is not how things work-this was a just a CIVIL case-there are no convictions in civil cases-only dollar amounts for liability-and the lawyers have already announced they will appeal...

“Did Trump want to be found liable?”

Perhaps. You can’t sue unless you are injured, and by being found liable under what is arguably a bill of attainder, and an ex post facto law, Trump is now injured.

sometime about 20 or so years ago, I don’t really remember the date Kamilla Harris hit me up for $100 for a blow job and pinched my ass.

Can I sue her for sexual battery and if she denies it, for defamation?

I’m not a lawyer, but I think her inability to recall a specific date prevented him from defending himself by not allowing him to provide exculpatory evidence (ie travel records etc).

If he were an attorney he would know that appellate courts don’t allow presentations of new evidence.

I don’t believe that would be appealable? It would have to be something procedural.
