White House is launching initiative to reduce potential risks of the 'powerful' technology Unpopular VP Kamala Harris is now AI czar under the new action plan

White House has unveiled its plan to crack down on the AI race amid growing concerns it could upend life as we know it.

The Biden Administration said the technology was 'one of the most powerful' of our time, adding: 'But in order to seize the opportunities it presents, we must first mitigate its risks.'

The plan is to launch 25 research institutes across the US that will seek assurance from four companies, including Google, Microsoft and ChatGPT's creator OpenAI, that they will 'participate in a public evaluation.'

The dangers of AI, specifically that it could destroy humanity if an assessment of risk is not done now.

Tech giants like Elon Musk fear AI will soon surpass human intelligence and have independent thinking. This means it would no longer need or listen to humans, allowing it to steal nuclear codes, create pandemics and spark world wars.

Vice President Kamala Harris - who has the lowest approval rating of any VP - will lead the containment effort as 'AI czar' with a budget of just $140 million. For comparison, Space Force has a budget of $30 billion.

Harris met with executives from Google, Microsoft and OpenAI Thursday to discuss how such potential risks can be reduced.

'As I shared today with CEOs of companies at the forefront of American AI innovation, the private sector has an ethical, moral, and legal responsibility to ensure the safety and security of their products,' the White House shared in a statement.

Each company's AI will be tested at a hacker convention in Las Vegas this summer to see if the tech aligns with the administration's 'AI Bill of Rights.'

AI is, after all, nothing more than woed salad. It is her expression and will provide an interpretive tool for her.

I'm sure her performance will be as stellar in this task as in her job as Border Czarina.

If they want something to fail, they put Kamala on it, which they just did.
So don't expect anything good.

We need 100 independent AI systems.

No more monopolies like Google and Facebook.

You can design one for yourself.

Does this mean we’ll all end up talking like Kamala?

You know, “today is today and yesterday is the day before today and tomorrow is the day after today and the day after tomorrow is the day before the next day and the…”

I haven’t seen her actually DO anything with any of the issues of which she’s been ‘in charge’. This will be the same.

How long before her speeches become much, much better? They will sound just a little odd for short sections, but will generally make sense.

If they would model it after her we would have no worries about it ever becoming sentient.

A mentally challenged ape could replace her.

No way AI can replace the supreme artistry of one of Kamala’s speeches. If AI tried it would fry its motherboard.

I would feel better if KH was IN CHARGE of AI implementation. Then, failure would be guaranteed.

Put her in charge of keeping it under control, not so much.

What specifically are they afraid of? What possibility of it being used against them have they identified?
