A Missouri Republican state lawmaker posted video on social media that he said showed a group of young kids repeatedly chanting “Let’s go Brandon” in unison at a youth wrestling tournament in Independence last week.
The video was posted on Twitter by state Rep. Aaron McMullen, an Independence Republican. McMullen said on Twitter that the video was filmed at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, which hosted the Adidas Wrestling Nationals, a K-12 tournament.
In the video, the group of kids are seen smacking a wrestling mat between the chants. The phrase has been adopted as a rallying cry in conservative and right-wing circles to mean “F--- Joe Biden.”
“What’s happening in Independence, MO? Don’t ever let them tell you we are losing the youth. Let’s Go Brandon!” McMullen posted on Twitter along with the video.
McMullen initially agreed to an interview Monday but did not return several follow-up calls and texts from The Star. The event manager for the wrestling tournament also did not respond to an email and call seeking comment.
Missouri Democrats quickly criticized the video on social media, saying it’s an example of kids being indoctrinated for political fodder. They have also pointed out the vulgar meaning of the phrase.
“There are so many people willing to throw teachers under the bus and defund schools and making up stories about teachers indoctrinating children or the left indoctrinating children,” Jessica Piper, executive director of Blue Missouri, a group that fundraises for Democrats, told The Star. “Leading kids on a chant of ‘let’s go Brandon’ is the height of indoctrination and they do it out there and they’re willing to film it and to put it online.”

Maybe the kid’s name was Brandon
Look in the mirror, dumb asses.
LOL, last night during my grand nephews varsity volleyball game, the boys chanted lets go Brandon, the server was a kid named Brandon, but you could tell by the teams laughter they knew what they were doing.
“...making up stories about teachers indoctrinating children or the left indoctrinating children,”
Not counting the countless examples of teachers indoctrinating children ..he is spot on.
The phrase has been adopted as a rallying cry in conservative and right-wing circles to mean “F--- Joe Biden.”
Time and the media change all narratives.
"Let's go, Brandon" was what a reporter said a crowd was chanting when it was saying “F--- Joe Biden.”
The phrase mocked the media and their cover for Biden.
The kicker , it occurred in the town of Hammonton. Dr Jill’s hometown.
That is exactly right. Sometimes I forget to make the distinction.
Hammonton?
That's rich.
Yeah, I got a chuckle outta that one, too.
Good for them.
They will have the most to lose if Brandon is re-elected.
I suspect they were all suspended by the school.
Too bad they’re too young to vote
Just saw the video, I LOVE IT!
Thought Communists loved indoctrination?
Exactly and likely the kids took advantage of that to increase the volume.
I sub at a semi-rural school in S.E. Missouri. Two or three of the Jr High kids wear ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ shirts and wristbands. I notice but never comment. One kid, who is outspoken started a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ chant at an school assembly in the gym and I told him that it wasn’t the time or place and he stopped.
I can assure the dems that the kids who know about ‘Brandon’ aren’t getting it from the school or teachers. They’re getting it from home. Some are also of an age where they’re starting to think for themselves and can see that FJB is working to ruin the country and they just don’t like it or him.
Hammonton is a town in South Jersey. Jill Biden’s mom and grand mom are from there. The town went Trump big-time in 2020. Still quite a few Trump flags fly over private homes. Yesterday afternoon during varsity volleyball game the team chanted Lets Go Brandon. The server was named Brandon, but you could tell by the laughter they knew what they were doing.
Her grandmom taught me back in the early 60’s, (3 rd and 4 grade). As I recall a very nice woman and good teacher
