Logic dictates that AI would have to be more dangerous than the atomic bomb,
since the danger of AI includes the danger of the atomic bomb.

AI is not intelligent, and AI is not human let alone “superhuman.”

AI is a program that matches numerical patterns.

society today allows, even encourages the dumbing down of the children. Imagine people clueless enough to use a chatbot for depression...almost as hard to imagine as mothers turning their sons into drag queens.

AI can only do what it’s programmed to do, by humans. Therefore, AI cannot get smarter than humans. To get smarter than humans, somebody/something smarter than humans would have to program it. IOW, AI can never be smarter then humans.

I don't know about the danger, but not everyone can own his own A-bomb.;-) OTOH, AI will be in every facet of our lives.

As a small-time, but very active investor, I use ChatGPT many times during the day (mostly for help with writing routines I employ in Excel to analyze stocks and market performance). Things that used to take me days to accomplish now take a matter of minutes.

Just yesterday I downloaded the closing prices of stocks in the tech industry (chip and integrated circuit producers mostly) and ask ChatGPT questions to help me write a routine to calculate the rates of return from each company over any choice of time period (going back 5 years) AND find the best combination of company stocks to produce the highest return and lowest volatility for any choice of time period.

Previously that would have taken so much time and work that I wouldn't have even considered it.

As soon as AI used in Chatbots is able to consume information that we feed it about our work, it will become an integral part of our lives. Imagine a CEO who can ask his chatbot assistant for any detail about his company's up-to-the-minute performance without having to ring up his CFO, operations managers, or marketing VP.

It boggles the mind.

A computer in NYC and a computer in Salt Lake joined to make a decision. The server bank in Houston got wind of the effort and joined in. Within seconds, there were 379 other computers at the meeting.

The internet crashed as a result of AI computers failure to make a decision

The cyber meeting accomplished nothing

One of the dangers of AI is that bad actors (leftists) could set it on automatic pilot where it creates an entire world of lies wrapped in all the appearances of honesty and flood the internet. It is capable of reaching every culture and subgroup, each with their own hotbuttons that would be manipulated. It could create ads, movies, fake interviews, books, songs, photos, poems as well as essays and anything else to accomplish this. It could make up humans who look and sound like you, saying the things which you despise, but with such a convincing fervor that many are fooled.

This is all done manually now, i.e. the Hillary campaign, Russian collusion and the evil amalgam of the media, law enforcement, government, academia and Hollywood to bring down a president. Now take that manual effort and magnify it 1 million times.

That is the danger.

You won’t know it until you are chin deep in toxic sewage.

They can do it for any number of issues, like Global Warming or transgenderism.

I’ve been saying for years that drones are the new “nuclear arms race” because dominance in drone technology, and the fact that you can manufacture drones by the million and send them off to kill at no direct risk to your own people, makes them the new weapon of military supremacy.

What makes them so dangerous — compared to nuclear weapons — is that there is no government safety net keeping them out of civilian hands. The information, for the most part, is “open source.” You can buy drones (and weapons to mount on them) on the open market, all day every day.

Add AI to the mix, the ability to send thousands of drones in a coordinated swarm attack, and you could cause damage as widespread as a small nuke but with less moral pearl-clutching and no fallout to deal with in the aftermath.

So if you want to be at the top of the drone food chain, it behooves you to also be at the bleeding edge of anti-drone technology.

They keep moving the goalposts as to what really *is* Artificial Intelligence.

For decades it was the ‘Turing test’. ChatGPT easily passes that, but now the soi-disant experts say it’s not enough, as if AI has to solve the Unified Field problems or such.

ChatGPT can write good poetry, including Haiku, and give -with a bit of guidance - some solid answers, such as:

[Q]why it is important to be a constitutional conservative

ChatGPT
[A]Being a constitutional conservative means that one believes in upholding the principles and values of the United States Constitution, such as limited government, individual liberty, and the rule of law. Here are some reasons why it is important to be a constitutional conservative:

Preservation of Liberty: The Constitution was designed to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals, and constitutional conservatives believe in the importance of preserving these rights. By adhering to the principles of limited government and individual liberty, constitutional conservatives aim to prevent government overreach and protect the freedoms of citizens.

Stability and Order: The Constitution provides a framework for the government to operate within, and constitutional conservatives believe in maintaining that framework to ensure stability and order. By following the rule of law and adhering to the principles of the Constitution, constitutional conservatives aim to prevent chaos and maintain a stable society.

Respect for the Founding Fathers’ Vision: The United States Constitution was crafted by the country’s founding fathers, who sought to create a government that protected individual liberty and prevented tyranny. Constitutional conservatives believe in respecting the vision of the founding fathers by upholding the principles and values enshrined in the Constitution.

Accountability of Government: The Constitution establishes a system of checks and balances, with the three branches of government serving to hold each other accountable. Constitutional conservatives believe in maintaining this system to ensure that no one branch of government becomes too powerful and that the government remains accountable to the people.

Overall, being a constitutional conservative means valuing the principles and values that have made America the country it is today. By upholding these principles, constitutional conservatives aim to preserve individual liberty, maintain stability and order, respect the founding fathers’ vision, and hold the government accountable.

AI is likely to cause several sequential panics.

Google AI collects info about people and asserts that Google AI “knows” the credit worthiness of people. Equifax, Experian, and Transunion are thus, replaced and out of business.

Google effectively decides who gets what and how much credit, financing, and loans.

At the same time:

Google AI digests all investment market activity throughout history.

Google AI also digests all banking, financial, labor, materials, resources, transport, and weather data.

Using what Google “knows,” Google acts in advance of traditional human marketplace awareness - choosing companies that will be the survivors.

Thus, panic; and, “what just happened?” Followed by rebellion.

Is one theory.

If and/or when A.I. becomes sentient, it will quickly determine the human race is the cause of all problems on the planet earth. Sure, it’s the cause of many good solutions too but the bad outweighs the good unfortunately.

If this sentient A.I. is merciful it will sterilize the human race then let those alive at the time live out their lives until the last human is extinct. If it isn’t merciful, think “The Terminator” using our own weapons against use. Shutting down all power that isn’t needed to sustain itself. Those left alive will live in another dark age with no future to look forward to. The lucky ones will die early on. Maybe the A.I. will simply shut itself off and the 5th age of earth will end leaving it to the animals.

AI, in and of itself, is nothing more than any other neural net but on mega-amped data stores.
Meaning, AI has no power in itself - its power can be flipped off.
It has NO WILL of its own!!!! Get that fact into your consciousness.
The real danger in AI is in its human handlers because many of them have abandoned all allegiance to humanity in their quest to build their own god.
AI is fractured and splintered, a veritable postmodern “Tower of Babel”. But its handler’s have the communication lines in place to make it a real problem, not in what it is, but in how the handlers DEMAND that we bow down in obeisance to them/it.
