Oregon Democrats Want to Give Homeless the Right to Sue If Forced to Move Their Encampments

At this point, Democrats aren't even trying to hide the fact they are out to destroy the country.

Oregon proposed a law allowing homeless people to sue municipalities for as much as $1,000 per violation as part of a new initiative to decriminalize homelessness.

House Bill 3501, known as the Right to Rest Act, would allow homeless individuals o use public spaces in "the same manner as any other person" without discrimination for their housing status, despite residents expressing frustration over the impending safety and hygienic issue.

Homeless people could also be awarded up to $1,000 if they are "harassed" by anyone trying to make them move.

Oregon's recent growth in homelessness is among the largest in the U.S., growing by 23 percent between 2020 and 2022 and increasing by 3,304 people to about 18,000.

While Portland has seen a decrease in population, homelessness spiked by 50 percent from 2019 to 2022.

The bill, sponsored by Beaverton-area Democratic Representative Farrah Chaichi, is unlikely to pass this session since it has already missed several key deadlines and a sense of "compassion fatigue" that has taken route in the Oregon state legislature this session.

Homelessness has been a significant issue for Oregon since the 2020 riots. The college town of Eugene has caused problems for residents who fear for their safety after squatters living in RVs have taken over the area, who often engage in public sex acts and take part in drug use.

What lawyer would take the case? Where would the homeless get the money to pay them? And then too, can’t the people then sue the homeless for all the crime and filth they do?

I think someone must’ve spiked Oregon’s water supply with a massive dose of LSD.

(and continues doing so)

I would call on all people that don’t think this is a good idea to get a tent and go camp on the politicians front walkway and dare the politicians to try to move them.

2020? The homeless were sleeping in brand-new sleeping bags on the streets when I was in Portland in 2010. I was in a hotel on the Willamette River and when you walked around to the river side of the hotel they were huddled in every doorway.

That was the year the Somali guy tried to blow up the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in Pioneer Courthouse Square and the FBI got him before it could happen. It took till 2013 to convict him but he finally got 30 years. The craziness was just starting around that time.

After they arrested the guy, they started moving people who were camping out around the Saturday Market. When the campers were upset, I told them it’s only because of the guy who tried to blow up the Christmas tree. They said “What guy?”

Most people have never heard about that movement. A high school classmate of mine who moved to the Eugene area had never heard of it. Everyone very surprised when I tell them.

Can’t find the exact quote or scene but in the surrealistic biopic I’m Not There (about the lives and personae of Bob Dylan) the boy playing the imagined Woody Guthrie tries to ride a freight car but is confronted by violent hoboes.

“I have no worries now myself since I became a union man” he says and the first hobo whispers to the second one “Don’t he know we all unionized twenty years ago?”

I went to pick up a building permit today in Sarasota County, Florida.

Some guys were camping out in the Home Depot parking lot.

A woman with four children was carrying a sign.

The out in the open California home-free lifestyle has come to town.

There are people that will camp out rather than pay about $1900/month in rent.

The lawyer will get $900 of each $1000 awarded a “victim.” I feel dirty using the word “victim,” when it should be bum, gutter trash or some more accurate description.

“A lack of affordable housing, limited shelter capacity, and scarce mental and behavioral health resources contribute to the more than 3,000 people experiencing homelessness in Eugene, more than 2,000 of which are without shelter every night.”

And what the Bidenvilles typically look like:

The term “’Hooverville’, was coined by Charles Michelson, publicity chief of the Democratic National Committee, as the name for shanty towns built by homeless people during the GREAT DEPRESSION.”

Quotes:

Hoover’s landslide victory in 1928 prompted Jouett Shouse, chair of the Democratic Executive Committee to rethink how to rebuild the party. Hiring Charles Michelson, the head of the Washington Bureau of the New York World, Shouse advanced an agenda to provide Democrats with continuous information attacking the Hoover administration. The project was funded by John Raskob, a retired director from General Motors. Michelson was described by fellow reporter Albert Warner of the New York Herald Tribune Washington Bureau as “that bitter slam-bang, aggressive, personal type of campaigning.” Michelson issued regular newsletters to Democrats on how to message attacks on Hoover and Hoover administration policies. One writer indicated that “Michelson more than any other person was responsible for creating the depression image of the Hoover Administration which plagued the Republican party for years afterward.” Perhaps the most telling example is Michelson’s use of the phrase “Hooverville” to describe the growth of shanty towns of homeless individuals in major cities across America.

The Shouse strategy produced the intended results. The constant barrage of criticism from 1928 to 1932 produced Democrat gains in Congress in 1930 and the Presidency in 1932.

Anarcho-tyranny. It’s telling that they even have the gall to introduce this sh*t. If anyone has any sense, get out while you can.

I don’t have a problem with that as long as the homeless own the property they are camping on.
