Suspected felons have walked free in half of cases since Alvin Bragg took office, sparking fears that some of New York’s worst criminals still roam the streets, DailyMail.com can reveal.
The proportion of cases in which the Manhattan DA’s office has not asked for felony suspects to be held on bail has more than doubled since 2018, according to its own data.
It has sparked fears that more suspects will be released before trial, leaving them free to reoffend.

Govt creates the problem
At same time disarms the law abiding population and attacks those that defend themselves
In order to get the population to beg govt to “do something”
And then we get more draconian laws taking away freedom
And they don’t fix/keep their govt created problem
They voted for it....they can live with it
Someone needs to do an audit of this guy’s finances. He’s got to be on the take.
In New York City something like 50% of the felony suspects get their case downgraded to misdemeanors.
And then of misdemeanors only 50% get sentenced.
So if there are 1,000 felony crimes in NYC.
500 of those felony crimes get downgraded to misdemeanors
250 of these now misdemeanor crimes are not convicted.
And for the 500 criminals accused of a felony, Bragg is only able to successfully convict 250.
So at the end of the day-—1000 felony crimes result in 250 misdemeanor convictions and 250 felony convictions.
No wonder the crime rate is going down in NYC
If you don't bring a charge, there is no crime. That's exactly how they lower the stats.
IIRC, NYC is SHORT a high number of officers, also.
This will lead to CHAOS-—worse than what they already have.
Many of these individuals are some very inhumane people too.
There hasn't been a Republican D.A. in Manhattan since Thomas Dewey's four year term January 1, 1938 – December 31, 1941.
If the lunatics who live in NYC are OK with Bragg putting criminals back on the street more power to them! They have to live with it, I don’t.....
Well yeah, but the DA needed to divert all of his available resources to go after Orange Man Bad!
