In New York City something like 50% of the felony suspects get their case downgraded to misdemeanors.
And then of misdemeanors only 50% get sentenced.
So if there are 1,000 felony crimes in NYC.
500 of those felony crimes get downgraded to misdemeanors
250 of these now misdemeanor crimes are not convicted.
And for the 500 criminals accused of a felony, Bragg is only able to successfully convict 250.
So at the end of the day-—1000 felony crimes result in 250 misdemeanor convictions and 250 felony convictions.
No wonder the crime rate is going down in NYC
If you don't bring a charge, there is no crime. That's exactly how they lower the stats.
