A damaging batch of documents leaked from the Pentagon appears to have been initially shared on the video game chat platform Discord in an effort to win an argument about the war in Ukraine, according to open-source intelligence analysts.
The bizarre provenance of the leak may seem unusual but it is far from the first time that a dispute between gamers has sparked an intelligence breach, with the overlapping communities causing problems for military and gaming platforms alike.
The existence of the leaked cache was exposed as documents showing estimated casualties in the Bakhmut theatre of battle began circulating on public social networks last week.

This sort of thing has happened before.
The makers of games like “World of Tanks” and “War Thunder” have had a few instances of players who work in the defense industry tell them their specs for a particular tank aren’t accurate - and then proceed to send them classified documents laying out entire systems!
The publishers report this to authorities when it happens but sometimes these idiots will be arguing with other players over details and upload this info directly to public sites where everyone can see it. It gets deleted as quickly as possible by the sites but the damage is already done.
Some people are just too stupid to be trusted with information.
The Personnel Reliability Program isn’t anywhere near what it used to be. Bunch of cleared babies willing to risk their country or their life in prison over a forum argument.

The “leaker” shouldn’t just be fired, it should be prosecuted and imprisoned.

It kind of smells like a dis-information ploy. In past incidents of this nature, a serious leak would have been hushed up, until the facts were assembled, akin to a Johnny Walker Red scenario. There’s a significant amount of “telegraphing” going on that presents itself as a confidence ruse.
Occam’s Razor says the leak was from a nutjob kid with a security clearance like “Reality Winner”.
I am seeing reports that NATO was hacked...and that right there would explain the “leak.” Nothing has hit the press yet, but media outside the US is floating it was KillNet again. This wouldn’t be the first time.
How sad that our press, while always a bit yellow around the corners from the very beginning, has become as useless a source of information as Pravda.
I wouldn’t doubt it. War Thunder players do this all the time in chat. There’s a couple Americans, a Brit and a Frenchman known to have done it. Try googling it. Not hard to find

The number of dead Ukrainians is likely way low, but the rest is likely true, based on stuff unrelated to Ukraine that has put Biden in a total jam, specifically SPYING on countries that we claim to be friends with...and it’s not just the claims that we spied on them, it’s the SPECIFICS of some of the material that lets those countries know it’s real...which is why we can’t simply deny its authenticity.

There is obviously a revolt in the upper echelons of our intelligence agencies/military against the occupation government of Biden and friends. These leaks are the equivalent of giving away the farm. They are massive and damaging and are designed to undermine the ability of The Biden WH to make foreign policy, a foreign policy that is driving our nation towards WWIII.
The Nord Stream pipeline sabotage was leaked in excruciating detail from some long time, well placed, government officer according to Seymour Hersh. There was no mention of gamers playing any sort of significant role. lol.
