It kind of smells like a dis-information ploy. In past incidents of this nature, a serious leak would have been hushed up, until the facts were assembled, akin to a Johnny Walker Red scenario. There’s a significant amount of “telegraphing” going on that presents itself as a confidence ruse.
Occam’s Razor says the leak was from a nutjob kid with a security clearance like “Reality Winner”.
Yes, exactly. And when the facts were assembled and they were ready to go public they would be talking about "serious consequences" and "thorough investigation." They haven't said a peep along those lines.
That's the part that I find suspicious not that gaming websites were involved.
