Could his 2024 presidential campaign be over before it even starts?
At this stage in the 2024 GOP presidential primary cycle, the fact that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) hasn't officially declared his candidacy for his party's nomination feels more like an administrative afterthought than a sign of genuine electoral reluctance. With his reputation bolstered by a rare good showing during an otherwise disappointing GOP midterm election, DeSantis has spent the early part of 2023 crisscrossing the country with conspicuous stops in presidential primary hubs like Iowa and New Hampshire, hawking his "make America Florida" memoir, and weighing in on matters ostensibly outside the scope of someone content to stay in state government for long.
Despite his early reputation as a potential Trump-slayer — coupled with a number of encouraging, if largely premature, polls — the light from DeSantis' political star seems to be dimming.
A 'very bad week' for DeSantis supporters
Data analytics firm Morning Consult released an updated 2024 GOP primary tracking poll taken over the weekend of March 17-19 that showed DeSantis tied with his record low. Meanwhile, Trump surged to more than double the Florida governor's support.
DeSantis' slippage comes amidst a particularly rocky stretch of headlines for the governor. He downgraded Ukraine's defense against an ongoing Russian invasion as not part of the "vital national interest" for the United States — a foray into international politics which earned him the surprisingly caustic ire of many of his fellow Republicans. This foreign policy squabble was overtaken by rising questions over DeSantis' personal touch on the campaign trail, and his capacity for retail politics. That was followed by the most open warfare to date between DeSantis and Trump, whose allies blasted the governor as a "weasel"

So they go around teaching folks how to destroy the source of the American strength that they rely on for maintaining a global empire and recruitng them to their cause? I guess we learn that DeSantis just wasn't up to the job of being a successor to Trump.
That's the thing that I don't get that these folks don't get since they are a whole lot smarter than me. DeSantis has a great education [well Harvard, so we should have known]. How did they intend to maintain a global Amercan based empire without a strong America? Relying on the Canadians, New Zealanders and Ukrainians? What goes through their heads? What? It's like building a raft of rotted beer barrels.
American wealth and democracy were a strength and an inspiration for like minded people to join in partnership. It morphed into the globo-hommo "rules based international order" that only benefits NATO and the bureaucrats in the EU and the ICC and WEF and so on. It benefits respective citizens not one wit unless they are international trade attorneys or look and sound real good on TV as they spout world order pablum.
Will that happen. I don't believe in honest polls and elections anymore,
Throwing in the towel already?
Flip-flopping like Charlie Crist sends you to near the bottom of the list.
House insurance is still a mess here in Florida.
In North Port, FL tarps on roofs are still common.
Destroy DeSantis then focus the MSM attacks on Trump.........or visa versa.........
The MSM controls the narrative, they will give us the candidate they want then go all out to destroy him......
They gave us "the Maverick" John McCain then proceeded to lead the attack against him.......
Trump getting kicked unfairly draws support.
For the same reason that deep state wanted Johnson as JFK’s VP and Bush as Reagan’s VP, they want DeSantis as Trump’s VP.
A life insurance policy on Trump would be a good investment. Deep state will JFK him.
“House insurance is still a mess here in Florida.”
It seems that the insurance issue always has been a problem in FL in one way or another — home, contractor. My sister says that hurricane insurance is outrageous now.
Trashing Trump was a bad strategy.
desantis never announced he’s running for president...
Even looked at purely from the perspective of political strategy, DeSantis choosing this time to take shots at Trump was a bad move.
“It’s not Ron.”
But it is. Nobody but Ron makes the words come out of his own mouth. If he isn’t capable of making his own decisions, and relies on the beltway, swamp, deep state, DOJ, media, etc., to steer his conscience, he has no business being President.
I heard the You Must Support Any Republican line for decades in Republican circles.
The people who said that line then opposed Trump.
Maybe she’ll change, but ...
“Representative Gabbard has consistently voted against efforts to protect the lives of the unborn as well as the consciences of taxpayers who don’t want their hard-earned tax dollars paying for abortion domestically or internationally. Rep. Gabbard has worked to prevent the implementation of the Trump administration’s pro-life regulatory efforts.”

Flip flopping on policy is never a good thing.
your willful ignorance is a bad strategy...
educate yourself...
trump started his “operation warped speech” against desantis...
trump looks like a jealous loser...
trump claims the experimental shots are “safe and effective”...
DeSantis has an outstanding record as governor and will be fine regardless of the outcome of this election cycle. 2024 is Trump’s last rodeo win or lose. Unfortunately, he has not groomed anyone to carry on the MAGA movement.
