Former President Trump on Wednesday took a swing at Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) after the Florida governor knocked him in an interview with Fox News’s Piers Morgan, another clash between the two GOP figures as they prepare for what could be a 2024 presidential primary match-up.
In an interview set to air on Fox Nation’s “Piers Morgan Uncensored” Thursday and published in part by The New York Post, DeSantis shifted from his previously veiled stance to more directly addressing the former president’s attacks with jabs of his own toward Trump’s character and leadership.
Trump, who is facing a looming indictment in New York over a hush-money payment to the adult film star Stormy Daniels, took to Truth Social to respond to DeSantis.

Would you endorse a person for President who implied you were a pedophile repeatedly simply because some people speculated you might be a challenger in his reelection?
True, at his age, DeSantis could well be in the mix of presidential candidates for the next 20 years. It’s not like this time is now or never for DeSantis in presidential campaigns.
Why, because Trump demands it? This is no longer 2016,
his path to victory got even more difficult, and his
rants won’t help him win over people he needs to beat
biden.
“Love Trump, but he’s gotta stop banging on DeSantis, a VERY popular REPUBLICAN governor of a major SWING STATE.”
Why do you think he’s banging on him in the first place? Because he knew DeSantis was planning on running against him, all along. Trump’s attacks forced DeSantis to reveal himself as a false ally. And because of Trump’s attacks, it happened on HIS timeline, not DeSantis’s.
Fake News
Trump lacks the fight gene. He makes deals. He lacks the ability to fight, he doesn’t know how
Trump cavorted with a porn star and had his picture taken with her. That was so stupid. He needs to yield to DeSantis and go away.
Until DeSantis declares himself in or out of the race, I will ignore the unnecessary back and forth between Trump and DeSantis. They need to realize they have a common enemy, and that is the Democratic Party. They would be wise to honor President Reagan’s 11th Commandment.
You don’t hear of any Democrats criticizing Biden. They present a unified front, at least until the primary season officially begins.
Not so with the Stupid Party. Republican leaders constantly snipe at each other. The Democrats must be very amused by all this.
Will someone remind Trump that he is a Republican, and is supposed to be fighting Democrats and the current administration?
Leave Ron DeSantis alone!
“Trump lacks the fight gene. He makes deals. He lacks the ability to fight, he doesn’t know how”
LOL. You’re joking, right?
lashing bump
Time marches on and could leave DeSanctus holding the bag.
That said, if he was thinking about a run for POTUS in ‘23-’24, he shouldn’t have actively sought Trump’s endorsement but, instead, should have privately intimated those thoughts to Trump and given Trump the opportunity to decide to keep him (DeSanctus) at arm’s length.
Well, yeah, and just wait until Trump is finally broken down and by the wayside and DeSantis has his turn. It will be him being criticized then.
If DeSantis is so popular and open, what are his views on the 2020 election?
Not a word about this from Ron?
The problem is that DeSantis really has no say in the matter. He’s a career government worker who will do whatever his handlers and financial backers tell him to do … unless he wants to spend the rest of his career as an ambulance-chasing lawyer.
Will someone remind Trump that he is a Republican, and is supposed to be fighting Democrats and the current administration?
Leave Ron DeSantis alone!
DeSantis is a primary opponent. That’s what this has always been about. I’m sure that, once he bows out, Trump will leave him alone.
Good point.
Of course celebrities get their pictures taken with lots of people they don't even know because the other person requests the photo.
Trump edited Reagan’s 11th commandment, beneficently relieving us of the presence of JEB, and intrepidly interrupting the planned canonizations of former president W and former POW Panama John McCain.
