Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on Sunday that an indictment won't help Donald Trump, countering the former president's claims that it'll only make him more popular.
While discussing Trump's possible indictment for hush-money payments to adult actress Stormy Daniels, Christie said on ABC's "This Week" that Trump thrives on conflict but only when he's behind the narrative reins.
"The circus continues. I mean, look, he only profits and does well in chaos and turmoil. And so he wants to create the chaos and turmoil on his terms," Christie said. "He doesn't want anybody else's terms … He wants it on his terms."
However, Christie, who is also a former district attorney, added: "But look at the end, being indicted never helps anybody. It's not a help."
~snip~
"I don't think that the American people will probably see this as a huge crime," Christie said. "But the vision of a former president of the United States being processed, fingerprinted, mug shotted ... What else do you expect Trump to say ... than to say that it helps his campaign?"

Remember when fatso walked hand in hand with Obama on the beach and helped him win the election? But then later on “Republican” fatso can go on the offensive publicly bashing fellow Republican Trump.
We all know Trump ditched you for the VP slot because you were too lazy to show up fat boy, so you should really be blaming yourself instead of bashing Trump. Total backstabber.
Oh and thanks for recommending that POS wray.
No he’s not!
If it was a REAL indictment it would be.
But it isn’t real. It’s not based on anything representing law or justice. We all KNOW this “indictment” is as phony as a three dollar bill with Barney Frank’s picture on it.
I’ve even had old school traditional democrats tell me this over the weekend. They don’t think this is a good thing at all. This is only supported by the Rob Reiner level of Leftist brain derangement.
It will be seen solely as political prostitution of the justice system on a par never seen before in American history.
It is the indictment—not the crime—which doesn’t exist, that crosses the Rubicon.
We’re in a whole ‘nother country now.
I tend to agree. If the rats get their video of Trump in cuffs and/or a mug shot they will hang it on his neck like a cinder block. People will know it is a political hit job but the optics are just too potent and will be a big drag on him. Christie is back stabbing rino but l on balance he’s right about this.
“I saw lots of chaos and turmoil during the PDJT Presidency, but it certainly wasn’t coming from PDJT.”
Exactly RIGHT!
Christy says “he only profits and does well in chaos and turmoil.” That is such BS. If Trump had had a normal presidency, the country would have been truly at peace internally. But the Deep State and leftists everywhere fanned the flames. I see Trump as the opposite, the calm and steady hand of leadership that does what is best for America.
It’s Biden who is thriving on all the chaos he has created.
What else has Christie been right about?
Both you and the elites have it bassackwards.
Chaos is gas at $4.00 bucks, banks collapsing, interest rates through the roof and INFLATION. Biden is causing havoc and chaos for the working class!!
This makes PROSECUTORS look bad - like evil clowns.
It’s always Trump’s fault as far as Chris is concerned. For him TDS never plats a role, because he too suffers from an acute case of TDS, because Trump grasped the brass ring on his first foray into the nasty world of politics.
<p.
Chris needs to worry about the excessive poundage he carries around with him, instead of politics where he is not even a realistic contender, while his commentary is juvenile and usually wrong on top of it.
Let that braggdork make a fool of himself
Here are a variety of my musings
Trump just raises more money and puts another notch in the history books
Trump will show up for the publicity anyway...
He’s laughing his ass off at this galactic stupidity
Stupid
He wasn’t running for local or state office.
No jurisdiction and wildly off base for a variety of other reasons.
Fat bastard will say anything for a sandwich.
He must have said this after the six buckets of extra crispy kicked in.
Looks like he had more than a few. 😆
.
I know a few important details about that “Bridgegate” incident that never show up in the media reports about it. By a total coincidence (since this only happens maybe once every 3-4 years) also happened to be driving on I-95 in Fort Lee during the alleged “traffic jam” that led to the Federal prosecution of Christie’s staff. And I can tell you that the whole thing was a politically motivated, contrived pile of crap.
WHY is fatso on these Sunday talk shows every Sunday?
“Christie is correct here”
Maybe he is. Some of the most successful and interesting bosses I’ve had seemed to thrive — be more productive — on chaos.
Sucking everyone else in to the drama was a negative, though.
People like Christie and Kasich seem to have a genetic flaw. They have an overblown perception of themselves as relevant, superior, and important. Where does that even come from? They’re losers and don’t even know it.
