Every bit of the hidden information actually *was* given to the defense by accident. The prosecution gave the defense an Excel spreadsheet of FBI agent texts which had originally contained several thousand texts but had been edited down to a couple dozen. But it turned out that the redacted texts hadn’t actually been deleted from the document. They had just been made invisible. Making them visible again only required changing a document setting. That’s what the defense did and, voila, they had the thousands of texts. So the defense has got them all and there’s no unringing that bell. The timing of this could not be better coming right on the heels of the Tucker video revelations.

The FBI was corrupted when Hoover took over. He used it to get the goods on politician to make them accountable to him, while glosing over the Mafia (who were providing him with toyboys) and concentrating on getting publicity for taking out small time crooks like Bonny and Clyde (and oops, and a car full of park rangers) and John Dillinger.
