A recent college graduate in Utah was shot several times by police during a traffic stop in early March after officers allegedly saw him reaching for a gun, body camera video shows.
Farmington, Utah, police department officers stopped 25-year-old Chase Allan after seeing an illegitimate license plate on the BMW car he was driving at 3:22 p.m. on March 1. Police Chief Eric Johnsen released body camera video relating to the incident on Wednesday.
When the police officer told Allan that he was being stopped because there was no registration on the car, Allan said, "I don't need registration and I don't answer questions." The officer requested backup, and four other officers arrived at the scene.

There are allegedly pictures of an alleged gun in the alleged car as I am allegedly posting this.
Weirdo. Wonder if the moromons are gonna riot.
Does beg the question that the cop called for backup before seeing or knowing the guy had a gun.
Progressives create a million different laws, registrations and rules that need to be enforced.
And then progressives scream when some of these required police enforcements go sideways.
I’ve carried in my car for man years, have been stopped a few times, am always polite with the officer, and disclosed that I am carrying. Every time it’s been a pleasant experience and the cop got particularly nice once I disclosed that I was carrying. This nitwit figured out a really unique was to get himself killed.
SovCit bites the dust. Well, saves us all one more stupid trial. My sympathy meter is reset to zero.
....based on an assumption that the article is substantially correct, I think Chase un-necessarily and stupidly provoked the cops.
.....with the same assumption, it looks like the cops waaayyy over-reacted. For starters....why 12 rounds?
If you have a functioning brain, repeat 1,000 times, “I will not F with the cops EVER...period!”
Registration?
Registration?
I don’t got no registration.
I don’t need no registration.
I ain’t got to show you no steenkin’ registration.
when do us white folks start a riot about this? I need a new TV.
Open carry is legal in UTAH, so him having a gun should have nothing to do with it. He was a smart ass, but that doesn’t warrant shooting him.
When are these Participation Trophy babies going to learn to simply comply with the officer’s request. If you want to make an issue of it later, fine. But being belligerent, refusing to do what’s asked, and then reaching inside your jacket at the height of the incident is just plain stupid. This is a self-inflicted death.
If one has a carry permit, I do, then the cop knows you may be carrying before he gets out of his car. It shows up when they call your tag in. Best to be up front about it.
Fortunately I’ve never been stopped while carrying in the car.
people have that frigging phone in their hand every waking minute...
I need a new TV.
= = =
Well, all you will see on it are lies.
I’ve only been stopped once in my life.I fought the ticket in court and won.If I’m ever stopped again I plan to obey all the cop’s instructions and if,despite doing so,I fell that my rights are being violated I’ll tell the cop, calmly yet clearly,to expect a multi million dollar lawsuit.
He chose....poorly.
Exactly. Plenty of "fail" to go around, here ...
Attention cops: We the People are armed, as is our fundamental, God-given and Constitutionally protected right. Get used to it. If you can't wrap your head around it; if you can't show us proper respect ... find another job. "Wal*Mart greeter" might just be your speed.
Did the police chase Chase?
